How bout a Linux Avatar???

I was kinda thinking about that too... but it would be smart to ask the owner of the penguin's copyright for written permission first. Any idea who it is?
 
snow patrol, I did Feline, Can O Worms, Borg Guy, Tiger and now... Wolf! I don't know if the Linux Penguin fits with the existing theme or not, but it sure would be cute. I'll experiment with it tonight.

edit: hey, does the penguin have an official name?

edit #2: got one submitted for consideration, we'll see if it gets ok'ed...

Would that mean that we would have to give avatars to all the other O/S's just to be fair? I can hear it now... "you are discriminating against us Unix, Windows 9x, NT, BeOS, Solaris, OS/2 users.... blah blah blah"

The penguins name is Tux...it says all you gotta do to modify/use it is:
'Permission to use and/or modify this image is granted provided you acknowledge me lewing@isc.tamu.edu and The GIMP if someone asks.'
So they'd probly be really happy if AnandTech were to use it 🙂
