How big of difference: 512kb L2 -V- 1mb L2?

I appreciate it.

512K cache=Northoood
1mb cache=5xx series prescott..

The prescott has several changes from northwood, it performs better in some things and worse in others at the same clock speed. Prescotts run hotter. They have more cache, but the cache is slower. They reach higher clockspeeds, but increased the pipeline lenght to do so. So overall, if I had a choice between at 3.4 northwood or 3.4 prescott..I would take a northwood any day.
