hmm u get more memory to load the textures on so you can probly choose high for texture setting w/o experiencing slowdown

Well on my rig, when I play on all high and max resolution it eats up 750mb-800mb of my memory...so thats a lot of lag considering the 1GB. On Medium/low it eats up 450mb-500mb. Ordering 2GB(2 x 1GB) ram soon so I can always run it on high. On high I can run it for maybe an hour then I have to restart BF2.

And yes, the testures still look awesome on medium, I highly suggest you get 2GB if you wanna get the 4xAA working and high.

Err I shudn't have said a lot of lag, it runs lagless :p just after an hour the stuttering starts being noticable.

Well..does your mobo support dual channel? If so it would be much better to get 2 x 1GB ram. But yes, with 1.5GB you will run it on all high, as for resolution, most likely 1024 x 768....I tried at the max resolution, I got 45-60FPS...but really, it looks the same to me so I don't mind. I rather playing on high and 1024 x 768 and getting 80-90 FPS.

Medium looks as good as high to me, and there is far less stuttering with medium with 1GB RAM.

Agreed! I play on my machine with all on high except textures and a lighting setting I believe. Basically, I choose the high quality setting from the drop-down and leave it as is. That seems to work best in my case.

So how much lag is there with 1gb online with all settings on high except textures on medium and lighting on medium?

And with only 512mb of pc2700, would i have to put everything on low and even still get lag?

Hmm will getting quality 2GB ram increase my frames per second? I just compared my 3 settings, high, medium and low, 6x AA and 1280x resolution. This is what it looks like, I wanna play on high but I'm getting 45-55 FPS :( so kinda laggy after a while. I play on all medium and max resolution and 6xAA...getting 70-85 FPS.

High

Medium

Low

Just need to keep working and afford that 7800GTX with 2GB ram I guess :(.
