How big is your school's harddisk farm?

hard disk farm? we have a server farm... it takes up a floor in an office building, and there are these giant cylindrical shaped machines that have hundreds of tapes in them. there's a mechanical arm that retrieves the tapes.

Where I work, our main fileserver is 2TB, expandable to who knows what size.... We have tons of other servers as well, and I figure we have a few more terabytes at least...

Hmm 100mb a user account * 10,000 students = 1terabyte. Add in teachers, os and all that and it's probably somewhere between 1 and 2tb.

I hear the university de bullcrappo planted 10gb drives last spring and kept them well watered. When they pulled them out of the ground in the fall they had grown to be 160gb drives. :) :p :D ;)

i don't know but we have the biggest computer lab in the nation here at VT. The sad part, it's MAC

hmm, uw has 200 mb and 20,000 undergrad (doesn't include grad).

but i don't think everybody uses to the maximum... i bet the average is lower. oh and we all get 2 gb of streaming media space :Q
