Haahahaa,

I had to go and find it... Yes, I still have the very first HDD I bought. Quantum ProDrive 80AT.
A whopping 80Mb drive. This thing is BIG (the physical size I mean)... (Of the HDD I mean).

Don't even want to think what it costed back in the day...

EDIT:

Currently running 2x40Gb in RAID 0, and 1x80Gb for backups and stuff...

My first Hard Drive was a 10 Meg Winchester, I modified a controller board to interface it with my TRS-80 Computer at the time that stock had a 1 MHZ Motorola 6809 CPU with 64K of RAM. I modified the Computer to a 2MHZ Hitachi CPU and made a 1 Meg Memory board. I also wrote my own BIOS and modified the OS to run 7 programs all at once. This was 1982 before there was any such thing as Windows. In 1983 I got an IBM XT and put a 20 meg drive in it and modified MSDOS 2.0 to work with it. Oh what fun that time was.

120gig, and 80gig, currently in my PC

120: Seagate 8MB cache, 7200 RPM
80: Western Digital 8MB cache, 7200 RPM

I love both of them 😀

my first hard drive was 40 meg.

First was a 40 meg in my 286. More recently (4 years ago) I had 2 20 gigs installed. Guess how much space I have now? 2 X 20 gigs still.

My first was 20TB, then I got kicked out of my time (2010) and dumped back into 2003....so now I only have a 60GB

My first drive was a 100MB Kalok (Korean-made) hard drive from a little over 10 years ago. That thing was the noisiest drive I've ever owned.

However, my first HD was a 10meg (forget the brand) attached to an Apple II+ (48K RAM) that was running the Darque Side of the Moon BBS/AE (Ascii Express) line. My first internal? A 75meg HD in an Apple IIc.
