my trusty old pc (IBM, 700 MHz PIII) has had Win2k on it for a lonnng time and the kids have installed and uninstalled hundreds of games and other stuff ... with the result that the registry is quite likely full of junk, and it begins to feel a little slow..
I could just reformat and reinstall Win 2k... but i have good reasons to think it may be time for XP... Question is... is it okay to just install XP 'over' 2k, or should i do a clean format and then install XP?
in the first case, will all users have most of their settings etc preserved?
