How do you know they haven't killed someone already?

good point. hehe.

I am sure if someone was killed (or even seriously hurt) on one of these shows, we would see it all over the headlines already...

Not if there was a high priced corporate cover-up

Dr. Lecter prepares it the best. You haven't eaten brain until you've had it served up by him.

As a youth, many. And I've heard the rumors, which is why I stick with

Hebrew National

or some other all beef hotdog.

That said, what we eat is mostly psychology. I was raised to believe that eating Liver, and Tongue, and Brains, and eyes, and other things are gross. Insects, worms, etc. All gross. Yet, some cultures do enjoy that stuff and it's not any more harmful than, say, a hamburger at McD's would be to me.

<--- Wouldn't eat (any) brains for $50K -- well, not now -- maybe if I had to save my family from loosing our home or something but given a stable income I wouldn't.

the only thing i think i couldnt handle eating/doing on that show is eating things that are still alive...like when they ahve them eating live cockroaches (i think they did that)...i did see them have to eat live ants and i could probably do that one...that would just cause me to go insane...i dont like live things in my mouth...

i was wondering on last nights episode (a repeat) they had a zip line and the person had to let go and hit a target, but they started at very high starting point...i would guess 100 feet at least...if they couldnt hold their own and fell at the beginning, over a hundred feet into water u would think they would get injured

but i'd guess they have to probably pass a lot of physical exams before the show lets them on and then sign a waiver

Hebrew National

or some other all beef hotdog.

Fear Factor is not really all that dangerous. Those so-called stunts have so many safety wires that 2 or 3 would have to fail simultaneously before anyone got more than a skinned knee. The show has mostly devolved to being a gross-out contest designed to appeal to 13 year old boys, it's all about what sort of disgusting food they can make the contestants choke on. The actual physical challanges are nothing. I've played organized football, lacrosse and hockey and any one of those sports is 10 times more dangerous than the wimpy little jumps Fear Factor does. In the history of that show, I've seen exactly ONE challenge that could have been potentially dangerous, they had some girls retrieve something from a tank with a few alligators. The show admitted that the water was super-cold to keep the gators placid and odds are they were probably drugged too, but at least that one could have had something go wrong. Everything else a 12 year old could attempt safely. C'mon, what's the worst thing that has happened to a person that fails a challenge, they fall 15 feet from a helicopter into water.
