Your welcome. And I never meant to slam your car or say it sucks - I'm a huge Mustang fan myself. I meant it sucks in terms of speed

the mustang would lose. It's a hefty car coupled with an underpowered engine and an automatic transmission that, unless you've done something to it, it set very conservatively. Granted, while the v6 is sufficient for daily driving, you really don't have enough force in there to move that car well enough. Th v6 stang is a show car. It's for people who don't want to race, but want to say they own a mustang. There's nothing wrong with that so long as you realize that you have no business on a racetrack with that car. Taking into acct the average driving skills of a high schooler, you might come up close as this kid may not know how to properly handle his car, but all things being equal, there's no reason you should win.

I would have thought you'd already know that by now, however, but now I think you have issues with people talking badly about your car. If you wanted to race...go rice up a civic or get a 5.0 v8 mustang. The fact of the matter is, the kid with the eclipse knows your car isn't a race car, YOU prolly knew it, and people here know it. When it actually comes to light, however, you don't seem to take it well. You even admit in your first post that your car isn't a racer, so why are you getting all bent outta shape when angrymarshmello highlights it for you?

You're driving a 145hp car that weighs 3065 lbs. and likes to blow headgaskets. He's driving a 210hp car that weighs 2767 lbs.

Think about it for a minute.

wow V6 mustangs only have 145 hp? Damn I should smoke one of my friends just for fun then. My prelude has 200 hp and he's always asking me to race.

What about the V6 camaros? I have another friend with one of those.

94-98 V6 mustangs make 145. 99+ make 193.

I think the camaros are about the same as the new mustangs, right around 200.

Yeah, the 3.8L V6's (3800 series II) they've used in the f-body's for the past several years are right at 200hp.

96 and earlier Camaros with the 3.4L engine had 160.

Dood. Your car sucks. (No offense) His Eclipse would SPANK the $hit out of you, especially a turbo'ed version. Even stock it will kick your @$$.

I say race for the heck of it. He may break something or misshift. Either way it's not worth getting worked up over. You have a nicer first car than I did. I had a '78 Ford Fairmont that had a rod knocking. It got worse gas mileage than my '03 Cobra.

i really doubt a stock eclipse could beat the mustang but THANKS FOR YOUR OPINION!

Are you bipolar?

No, you just can't read. I said STOCK (non-turbo) in the second one

Yes but no one read the second one - in your first post you put turbo'ed eclipse. Some Eclipses do come with turbo's stock though. (DSM) Non-turbo you have a chance, depending on what engine he has and auto/manual. Turbo'ed (like originally mentioned) - you might as well bet money AGAINST yourself
Thank you for clarifying for the idiot driver:)

Here is the scenario:
ECLIPSE GSX (210+hp AWD) > He'll be good 2-4 car lenghts ahead before the cars hits 50mph...you have no chance

ECLIPSE GST (210 FWD) > Hell be about 1 car lenght ahead, depending on the launch...gsts have crappy traction

AWD 2g DSM run mid 14s stock, mine should be around in hi 13s at this point

Dont bother racing a turbo dsm with a v6 mustang, heck even with minimal mods in a dsm a v8 stang could barely keep up.

If you ever see this intercooler looking thingy on a dsm it'll be over very quickly :D
