How bad will the violence be when Trump is arrested Tuesday, or whenever?

The thousand or so charged, arrested, or in jail due to 1/6 is only a drop in the bucket. Even it 1% of republicans are radicalized MAGA'ers, that is some serious numbers.

The only media I’ve consumed since Thursday is college basketball. What happened?? This morning I saw tweets indicating the DA’s office reached out to the Secret Service to coordinate details of Donald’s arrest? Is that right??? I take it the SS leaked it to Donald who went on his tirade this morning??

After everything that happened with the Secret Service, why would any agency attempt to “coordinate” an arrest with them? Why even attempt an arrest? Just indict him and hope he never sets foot in NY again.

Something is very off with this whole scenario.

I dunno ...of all the cases and investigations, I think this one might be the weakest. Especially if it ends up being for campaign finance violations.
Because he’ll be able to argue that he made the payoff in order to keep his wife from finding out about Stormy, not because he thought the story might hurt his chances of getting elected. But no matter why the payment was made, it’s not a legitimate election expense. Also there’s the coverup, that is, how the expense was accounted for in their records.

But we won’t know until we see the indictment.

Hopefully Bragg doesn't screw this up and loses the first case against Trump. I'm already disappointed in him for dropping the criminal tax evasion thing after running on it. I suspect it won’t be as soon as Tuesday, although his lawyers may get a call then to looking arrange for his surrender. He’s already sending out fundraising emails on it, of course. “They’re persecuting your favorite president! Show them you won’t be stopped, send me money!” Which, I suspect, was the real reason he declared that he’s going to be arrested Tuesday. Neither his lawyers nor the prosecutors office is able to corroborate that timeline. It’s a win/win for him. If it happens, he was right all along and the marks send him money and show up to protest. If it doesn’t happen, he scared them off with his enormous popularity and perfection and the marks send him money and show up to protest. He’s also calling for people to protest on Tuesday. Don’t those people have, like, jobs or anything?
 
I don't expect much, maybe some maga pissheads protesting outside DoJ or something.

I think the majority understand with Trump robbing them, not doing much of anything to help the people he had storm the capitol on Jan 6th, he's not worth going to prison for.
 
"Protest, protest, protest". He's covering his ass, he knows protests can turn violent. I'm sure thats in his heart, to spur enough violence and chaos that the govt go easy on him or set him free to avoid widespread mayhem. I dont think its going to happen, but I know thats how his mind works.

Considering members of his SS detail work for him now privately it's not too far of a reach to think they were tipped off by their former colleagues.

So, here's a very interesting question: Since former presidents have AFAIK a permanent Secret Service detail, what happens if Trump is sentenced to a significant time behind bars (not for this, I presume, but for some other offense, e.g. the wanton disregard for the nation's secret documents, purloining and hiding them), e.g. 5 years (I would love that to happen). Does that mean there will be a Secret Service detail with him at all times in prison? I suppose that wouldn't be exactly like them being incarcerated. They might eat better than him, and I imagine they'd be switched out with alternates regularly... maybe different SS guys for each day of the week. Hardy har...

We know how committed he is to peaceful protests on his behalf, e.g. his sitting in front of a large screen TV for hours on Jan. 6, 2020 while the Capitol was seized and refusing to do anything more than ask for refreshments and enjoy the ultra violent scenes.

No, self-preservation is paramount. If they think they can violence with impunity, then sure, that level of human trash will do wanton destruction. But if they aren't confident they won't get fucked over, that's another matter. Don't be stupid. You are living in a dream world. Another Jan. 6 is not in the offing. It won't be tolerated.
