Me: Why is this so difficult?
Rep: I'm sorry?
Me: You know, I order your services 2 months in advance, I'm told by ATT to not cancel my services w/ my prior servicer until the transfer is complete. Lo and behold, the transfer was 3 weeks ago yet somehow my phone number isn't ported over yet.
Rep: Well, it's possible the other servicer hasn't yet released the phone line and that is causing the delay...
Me: I canceled my services with them 3 weeks ago, what more needs to be done?
Rep: You should call your prior servicer to see if they have your phone line scheduled to be released.
Me: Why should I call? I'm not ATT, shouldn't you be setting up the transfer?
Rep: No sir, you will need to call them
Me: Ok then, so when is the expected transfer date?
Rep: I'm sorry?
Me: You know, when is the date when ATT expects to receive the information that my previous servicer released my phone # and then you can port that same # to my account? I don't want to call them without being informed with what is going on with my account.
Rep: I'm sure they have it all set up
Me: So once I get the release date, how do I let ATT know when it is?
Rep: We will already know what it is, they will communicate this with us.
Me: So then wtf am I doing calling my previous servicer for?

Me: Hi, the service transfer to port my old phone line to ATT was 3 days ago, I haven't heard anything yet, whats the deal?
Rep: I'm Sorry?

Rep: Ok, we will have to place an order to try and get the # ported over.
Me: /facepalm
