how bad is this?

I have an xp 2400+ mobile, and in cpu-z the voltage is changing every 5 seconds btw 1.648 and 1.664. The computer seems to be stable though, it made it through 10 hours of prime. Does this mean that I need a new power supply? I have the stock that came with my case. Thanks.

What kind of PSU is it? I thought the mobile Athlons adjust voltage as needed to save battery power.

Completely normal. The fluctuation is <1%, well within specifications and probably less than the error margin of the voltage sensor.

yeah perfectly normal. I wish Motherboard manufactures would put acurate volt meters on boards. my 12v constantly reads 11.3 and my five volt reads 4.7 I throw my multimeter on a molex and I get 12.06V and 5.02V. makes me more comfortable but Its still anoying you can't trust the motherboard.

right now it's at 2059: 12.5x164.7 .... 42c idle

i'm on an epox 8kha+, and when i try to increase the multiplier any more it puts the chip speed back at 900mhz. I'm slowly increasing the fsb making sure that it's stable. so far this chip has been amazing for me...it was a huge jump from a 1700+.

FYI, the XP 1700 Tbred B isnt that bad of a CPU. I have had two do 2ghz at default voltage 🙂
