How bad is Beck's new 64 calorie beer? *UPDATE* This beer SUCKS.

Surely it can't taste good with that little in it. Opinions?

*UPDATE* I bought a six pack yesterday of this. It's actually not that bad in taste, but I sucked down four in an hour, just to see if I could get anything, and I would not argue it if somebody said this was alcohol-free beer (which Beck's also makes, but this was not it). I will never buy this again. Even with something like bud light if I put down four in an hour I'm happily going along, but this stuff is lighter than hell. It has only 45 cal of alcohol each beer, which I think explains it :)

Either that, or it has about 1.2% alcohol in it.

But yeh, that was the first thing I thought of. Something with that few of calories has to taste like swill.

They don't even have it on their website. Their regular Light is 3.8% and about 100 calories.

Oh, and Flash sites that take forever to load over 4 Mb cable SUCK!

EDIT: It's called Beck's Premier (sp) Light

Yeah, instead of drinking a pint of something decent, you'll drink twice as many Becks to get a buzz, amounting to the same amount of calories, and not even having 1/3 of the taste.

Beck makes beer now? Is he still recording music too, or did he give that up?

Maybe, but nobody here knows what percentage alcohol this is!

It can't be worse than budweiser select - that's like drinking soda-water. There's no beer taste at all.

I wanted to try that. The worst beer I've so far had is the Aspen stuff, which has zero taste. It's less than zero. I can enjoy bud light, natural light, and all the cheap crap, but that aspen stuff was so flavourless as to be unenjoyable. Is budweiser select as bad?

Aspen Edge was absolutely horrible. No taste at all. At the pizzeria I was working that, they gave us a few cases for free when it was first introduced. It didn't sell at all, so I wound up taking 2 cases home, but couldn't drink the stuff. Wound up giving it to chicks when we had a party.

I had Budweiser Select last night (girl brought it to the part); it has a little more taste than Aspen Edge, but that's about it. There is still basically no beer taste to it.

As you'll notice by this fine post, men do not drink lo-carb beer.

I think this becks will probably suck then. Aspen Edge's line was that it had "more taste", but it was by far the crappiest most disapointing beer ever. It made milwaukee's best seem like a dark ale.

I've always loved the quote:

"Tastes like it was filtered through a dog's bladder...." :D

It's not worth the cost of a 6 pack. Only reason I tried it was because it was the same price as bud light at the bar and I'd never had it before.

I'd rather drink Miller Light - at least it tastes like beer. I don't expect Budweiser select to be a long-term product.

I work at a liquor store and when we got Bud Select in my boss pointed at it and said "Discontinued by Christmas." We've sold maybe 10 cases in a month.

Miller lite is the only lite beer I drink. Budweiser is just fermented Clydesdale piss.
