I've had friends do it to disastrous results. I've also tried to do it myself to equally as hilarious outcomes.

I'm considering buying a flowbee or equivalent and giving it another go. It always seems like I want to get my haircut on a Sunday or after 7PM. It's almost impossible to find a place that's open at these times.

What do you do?

I found a nice salon that I really liked, but it was too expensive, can't afford it with how fast my hair grows. Cheap salon isn't that bad.

Cheap. I don't have enough hair to style in any special way, so I just need it shorter every once in a while.

Clippers. The flowbee looks like a terrible product lol.

I keep my hair somewhat short so once every two weeks. I've wrecked my hair at times when I first started or was in a rush but I love cutting my own hair. I know my head so I know what I want. The money saved is an added bonus.

Great Clips(cheap salon). Great service and fast. I use a 4 on top of my head and gradually goes to a 1-sized clip. I get my haircut every 6 to 7 weeks.

How do you cut around the back to have a clean line all the way around? I use clippers and I can do all of it except cutting around my ears and doing the back. Need my wife to do the finish work

I use my finger to form a line and then cut accordingly. I used to have to have someone finish my cut too. But necessity dictates means. I use the ear clippers that came with my set for the ears. It's not perfect and I still have to fix it somewhat however.

local barber.

$20 with tip, usually averages out to 2 haircuts every 3 months.

I just get it shaved and I used to do it myself, but I don't mind paying $20 to save time, avoid and cleanup, and I feel like my barber does a matter job than I do of clipping the random stray hairs that manage to avoid the electric razor.

I go to my wife's place of work - Ulta Beauty Supply - for a couple reasons:

1. I get 50% off (haircut is normally $40)
2. My stylist is a Columbia hottie, who gives the best neck/temple messages when she's washing my hair. I have to really concentrate to keep myself under control, if you know what I mean.

You just...do it...and hope you didn't miss a spot. Or get another mirror so you can see the back of your head, but I don't usually do that.

I buzz mine with a 1.5 or 2 usually, so it's short enough that I don't have to use shorter clippers around my ears or anything.

I don't trim/shave the actual neckline every time I cut my hair, I definitely have to have someone else do that. I cut my hair usually every other week, and shave my neck every month.

$20 for a haircut? Damn that's a lot. They raised the prices here and now they're $11.
