How are those P'zone things from Pizza Hut

Can't decide on what to have tonight and am considering a P'zone

Have you had one how is it compared to a regular pizza?

Supprisingly I think pizza hut forgot the cup of oil they normally use. Sure the outside has a nice sheen but I don't think there was any thing other than a light coat on the outside. Better than their cup-of-oil pan pizza.

Pssshhhaaawwww. (ahem) Get a regular pizza man. Nice girl at my work gave me half of hers today. Whoppeddy do dah. I prefer pizza huts breadstick/personal pizza meal. Better than the P'Znizone, no doubt about it.

Word of advice : DO NOT BUY THE PEPPERONI (sp?) P'ZONE!!!!!!!!! It's so plain it'll make you sick. Either go for meat lover's or classic. I'm partial to the meat lovers so far.

This whole "P-Zone" thing is pissing me off.

"It's the Pizza you eat like a sandwich!"
"It's Pizza made Calzone style!"

WTF - It's an effing STROMBOLI!!

Anyone from Jersey will tell you it's a rip-off Panzarotti, and I hope those gentlemen from Penn Pizza Palace go work on some people's houses after this...

Ok, Pizza hut's markenting is starting to get on my nerves.

There is such a thing as a calzone, it has been around forever. Check out your local pizzaria (one not run by fifteen year old minimum wage workers)

this was the only thing I could find online, but as far as I can tell (and I refuse to eat pizza hut) the only difference between a calzone and a "pzone" is that a calzone has ingredients that werent made by the same machines that squirt out tires and that Pizza Hut can't trademark the word "calzone"

I also found this

Yay google image search!

A Calzone is pretty much defined by the presence of Ricotta cheese. Without the Ricotta, its An EFFING STROMBOLI!!!

I guess P-Hut is going on my list of things never to buy along with Mentos and 1010220...

I think they are pretty good, in fact I'm having one delivered in about 10 minutes.

Why is everyone here being so harsh towards Pizza Hut? Yes, it's almost the same as a stromboli and the name is stupid, but who cares? When you're eating it who gives a rats ass what the name is?

I always thought the difference between a Stromboli and Calzone was just in the shape, not its ingredients. In fact, this is what the Food Network has to say about it (thanks for the link So):

stromboli
Definition: [strahm-BOH-lee] A specialty of Philadelphia, a stromboli is a calzonelike enclosed sandwich of cheese (usually mozzarella) and pepperoni (or other meat) wrapped in pizza dough.

calzone
Definition: [kal-ZOH-nay; kahl-SOH-neh] Originating in Naples, calzone is a stuffed pizza that resembles a large turnover. It is usually made as an individual serving. The fillings can be various meats, vegetables or cheese; mozzarella is the cheese used most frequently. Calzones can be deep-fried or brushed with olive oil and baked.

P'zone

Now tell me which one the P'zone resembles more.

That's a nice "dictionary" definition of Calzone, but try getting one anywhere that isn't overstuffed with ricotta.

In my real life experience, a stromboli can be more varied in its contents. I have even had a cheesesteak stromboli (awesome!). The pretty picture of a clazone you posted is pretty much a stromboli...

and since you did it...

P-Hut serves 3 types of Strombolis

"Pepperoni" - see the above ingredients

"Meaty" - see above and add ham and salami

"Classic" - It's called a sausage stromboli

btw - yes, I am from Philly.

hmm...I've had lots of really good calzones in several different areas of Italy that didn't have any ricotta in them.

You think you get real italian food there? If you aren't in Brooklyn, North Jersey or South Philly, Fugeddaboudit! 😉
