How are they keeping the snow off the NFL yard markers?

For anyone watching the Pats/Raiders game, how are they keeping the yard markers free of snow? It almost seems like they installed heaters or something under the turf where the yard markers are they're so clean. The entire rest of the field is piled with snow. Anybody know what they're doing to do this?

I can't believe they're playing in that much snow.. they should install a heating grid underneath the grass or something.. of course, that would kill the grass if it was ever turned on but at least there wouldn't be any snow!

They send a few guys out there to lick up the snow on the lines.

That, or they just use snow blowers...

I don't think NE has them specifically, but I know some stadiums do in fact have heaters installed under the fields.

yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I was wondering if someone just runs around with a yellow magic marker and marks and erases it every time the camera moves.

No, they arent. It doesnt look like heaters under there becuase it is filling in now. They look like someone drove a truck over the field with 4 tires to an axle, whatever the name is from those things. :D

It's funny because I don't see any sort of equipment on the sides of the fields to get rid of the snow. You'd think they'd be sitting right next to each yard marker for when the commercials come on.

<< LOL, with all the hot air from Pat's fans like me who are pissed with their lame game thus far tonight !!! >>

I think I'd rather see the Steelers/Baltimore game in the snow...just imagine how much harder Bettis would be to tackle in the snow...

Just on a side note: Is anybody else here tired of seeing Jon Ritchie's bleeding forehead every Sunday on TV? I don't think I've ever seen a Raiders game where they didn't focus in on his face with all the blood coming down. It was surprising the first time, but it's a weekly occurence, so who cares?

Wow..now the numbers on the field have been uncovered...

yea that'll last about 5 mins into the game, they should clean off the endzones a bit however

Haha..did you see Oakland trying to spot the punt in the 5 yard line? The poor guy didn't even know he was in the endzone by the time he touched the ball.
