I've been running the 4.28 betas in W98, and they've been just fine. I'll download the finals later tonkight, but I don't expect them to be different.

Well, i'd think VIA wouldn't bring out an OFFICIAL 4in1 with a known major problme with it. The IDE as SCSI problem with win2k was pretty serious. Burners and DVd-ROM's could work with it with the last BETA drivers. I don't run win2k, so it don't affect me.

Tell us if its fixed ppl.

I'm having just an awful time with them in win2k. I installed them against my discretion, as 4.26 ended up hosing my win2k install a month ago.

Anyway, After the initial install and reboot, the install popped back up to "finish up", only it hang. I logged out, logged in as a standard user, shut down the machine, restarted, and all looked well. That it replaced my IDE channels with SCSI/RAID controllers in the device manager didn't even bother me. That all my IDE devices became SCSI didn't bother me. It then hung, and that bothered me. Rebooted, evenrything seemed fine, started up the TV tuner, after ten min, it hung again. Rebooted, everything looked hosed, and this wast at the video BIOS, before the POST even.

After a couple tries, rebooted fine, reinstalled SP1, nothing odd in the event viewer, and now, its been 40 min since the last crash and counting... One big thing. my DVD drive doesn't play now. Anybody got suggestions????

I hate 4in1's with the passion of a thousand burning suns!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if someone with a P3V4X gets them to successfully work under Win2K... post a message! ;)
