How are groups like ELF not considered Terrorist?

the Earth Liberation front just lit up lumber fire with as much as 1.5 million worth of damage. How is it that the government does not treat these groups as Terrorist organizations?

I really don't want a flam war on rather or not lumber is needed or not. I just wonder how its OK to lite it on fire and destroy peoples houses.

I think they actually are considered to be a terrorist group by the government, but since they don't kill people with airplanes I guess they are lower on the "terrorist groups to stamp out" list.

Ok so i guess they are (have yet to look it up). But over the years i think Elf and groups like it have done more damage. I would think the goverment would want to take them down.

I guess i just do not understand why they do it. I can't think of anyoen that does NOT use wood, leather, animal product or such.

well lets see. in how many years there have been how many attacks on the US? Now how many attacks have Elf and there kind done?

while Elf has not had as huge one time hit they have caused just as much if NOT more damage.
 
I've always wondered if they'd find it suitable if someone torched thier home because they caused pollution by torching other people's homes.

I dont disagree with you. They should be given more police attention. But they havent managed to do anything spectacular, which is more or less par for the course for long haired hippies 😉

heh i also remember when I think it was PETA or ALF released a bunch of Minx (i think) into the wild. It turns out the minx killed most of the small wildlife in the area. The group said thats ok thats what they do.

If you include christian terrorists and hate groups this is not true. If you put a monetory figure (include medical bills of the injured) on the damages of the Oklahoma City bombing and all the abortion clinics, added to 9/11 result has to dwarf and ecoterrorism. I really think you are exagerating the ELF's activities.

Soldiers for Christ. It's been named by numerous abortion clinic attackers, including Eric Robert Rudolph. But it really isn't a "group" but rather a name that white trash nutzoids call out. I'm including McVeigh in this, too. He was a part of the whole "black hellicopters" white ring movement.

There was a christian minister that was just executed here in florida because he shot a septuagenarian abortian clinic doctor and his wife with a shotgun. The wacko minister wasn't apart of a christian terrorist "group," just part of a sick trend.

9/11 is estimated to have cause $100 Billion in damages. Here is one Link though it is burried in there. Maybe you should do some research. The numbers just don't compare. ELF is a little blip not worth the FBI's Counter Terrorist efforts.

This link says that the 9-11 attacks did approximately $100 billion in damage, not including people's lives.

1997-2004 is over 7 years. If we say ELF is doing $100 million in damage every 7 years, then they'll equal out with the 9-11 attack in roughly the year 9004. 9-11 was 1000 times more significant than everything ELF has ever done.

Like any other terrorist group, these types need to be weeded out and prosecuted as far as the law allows. As a Christian, I can assure everyone that these folks are not espousing Christian values. They may call themselves Christians, but their actions speak for themselves.

I wasn't saying they were. But it's also the same with Bin Laden and the rest of Islam. If you look at the people like Soldiers for Christ and compare them to Al-Quaida, they are pretty similar. But the established, moderate voices of Christianity and Islam both scorn these sick off-shoots.
