How are firearms handled at your work place?

Are you legally able to bring a gun to work? Are there policies against having a concealed gun? Can you leave one in your car?

I work at a university in Texas, so they keep on trying to make it legal to have here on campus, but the stupid libruls won't let it happen :(

Have CCW in Nebraska, but no guns in the workplace. Doesn't really make sense to me, as someone could easily walk in to work and start popping people. It'd be good to have the ole equalizer with me.

There's only 4.5 of us here, but we can bring whatever firearm we want to work, concealed, or over our shoulder, doesn't matter. There's probably 25 firearms with in fifteen feet of me right now.

No firearms in the building.

Firearms are left in the vehicle. That way we can take off early during hunting season and go out to the lease.

There's a sign next to the front door that says we ban guns. However, the way the laws are written in Minnesota, you can't actually get in trouble for bringing a concealed weapon into a business with a sign like that - all they can do is ask you to leave. You can only get a fine if you refuse.

Of course, there's no law saying my company can't fire me for bringing in a gun... they probably would. Not that I feel the need to bring one, and I don't even own one anymore.

The more ardent pro-gun folks around here sometimes seem to make a habit of going to no-guns-allowed facilities (such as the Mall of America) with a concealed weapon anyway. I don't know if it's because they want to "express their freedom" or just test the limits of mall security. Hell, a few of them could be hoping to get caught and subsequently mistreated so they can sue, although I'm sure if anyone does do that they are in a tiny minority. Some people may also do it just to expose the MoA's security as the joke that it is. I don't know.

wait, so you're telling me that people bring . . . .GUNS . . . . to a mall and chaos doesn't ensue? They don't go around shooting everyone in sight? W T F that's not how they said it would happen

we can put a man on the moon, but can't develop a cost effective non-lethal projectile firing weapon for those that want to carry for personal protection?

Well I'm in California so I'd be fired for having a gun at work or pretty much anywhere at this point.

God bless America. I support the right to carry a firearm. However, people that feel the need to carry it everywhere they go just seem paranoid to me.

I will grant that people who work in shops in high crime areas probably should be armed.

What about people who work places that a nut case ex-employee comes back into and shoots the place up? Happening all to damn often lately..just because you might choose to be prepared at any given time doesn't make you paranoid...
