How are Asians treated in the U.S?

I heard pretty nasty things about how Asians are treated in the U.S and I just want to see what you guys have personally experienced with or around them.

Just some honesty would be nice since I heard some major horror stories about discrimination against Asians.

I have some friends that are coming to the U.S from Asia and I just want to reassure them that they aren't going to get hurt.. either mentally or physically.

However, I don't want to lie.

Stay away. I heard they kill Asians, rape the bodies and then eat them.

after lived 1 year in uk, i can tell you it is a lot better in the US.

depends where they are going. major cities are usually no problem.

I've lived in Washington and California and there are large Asian populations in both places. Asians are treated pretty much like everyone else. Biggest differences I've heard are jokes about driving ability and strict parenting of over-achiever kids.

What kind of horror stories have you heard?

Being physically assaulted on sight, Racial slurs thrown around.. that kind of stuff.

LA/SF/NYC (not the state)/Seattle pretty much complete integration. Cities like Austin/Dallas are close (maybe another decade). The most "racists" are in the Northeast. People in the non-big city South just aren't used to seeing Asians in real life so they are typically ignored. The most racist against Asians by race are blacks then followed by Mexicans. Whites usually are too scared to be racist against anyone these days.

Corporate racism against Asians still exists everywhere with LA/SF being the least. That will change in the next two decades.

Compared to Asia and Europe though, Asians in the US are treated (relatively) "the same." Asians are treated the worst in Asia, then in Europe (known as "orientals"). Worst in France. Best in Scandinavia.

Stay in CA along the coast, theyll fit in.

The rest of the US is pure trash anyway, nothing useful to see or do.

I'm brown and have been to the deep south, NE, West US. Never once has anyone made some sort of stupid racial remark against me.

I think I had something racist said to me in just about every single European country when I was on study abroad. (Except Greece, go figure) England is tons of fun, some racist sons of bitches there though.

I heard about Americans loving Asian women but it is more because they are stereotyped into being submissive and loyal than anything else; basically a housemaid.
Which is racism in of itself.

Just don't go to small-ass places and they'll be fine. Major cities and try to stay in Cali or Seattle
