btw, once my friends and i get this all straigtened out, we're going to sell products to anandtech members for 10% or so cheaper then newegg. the idea is not to make a living off it, we just want experience and we like doing this for fun. we had our own audio business before which was really successful, but we had arguments wtih our other tri-owner and we quit, so we'd like to do computers now. our only problem is finding a place to buy from

um, like 10-100 lol. if possible. we wanna start off low and work our way up. my friends and i are only in college, and we dont wanna make this our profession. we're doing it for ourselves and for those who want things cheap, but ya, we want to sell things cheaper to consumers like you and still make money to get more products. like i said, we're not exactly doing it for the money. call it a hobby.

I know here, there's a place called Triple I, where you can purchase items for cheap if you have a business license. They probably went out of bussines, because we can get cheaper stuff from the internet.

I think you'll have to buy in a large quantity to save money, perhaps 100's.

Good luck, 100s of items don't even save you money. Newegg buys in THOUSANDS and you think you can beat them? Not to crush your dreams or anything, but distributors have HIGHER prices than Newegg does. Newegg saves money by buying in bulk, to the point where shipping is cheap and the product is discounted at quantity.

Unless you order 1000s of chips, you can't get them cheaper than NewEgg. Selling computer parts online is not a good business to get into.

heh good idea to bad it won't work.

first off getting a business license is not easy.

2nd if you planning on just buying for friends/family etc you will NOT save to much. You might find a re-seller to give you a slight discount. But the odds are against you. You will NOT beat newegg.com's price.

But go for it.

Man, if you don't know how to order something as staple as this, then you're not cut out for the business.

But to answer the question, YOU DON'T. You'll need to go through a distributor/wholesaler... there are lots of ones out there, some require a membership fee, others require minimum purchase (like $5k worth), and others both.
