How Amsterdam was wired for open access fiber

It's no wonder the U.S. is lagging. Just about every step described would be covered in red tape and lobbying.
 
I hate living in Australia, with our pre-historic net. You do know I had to bicycle down the ISP's office, to give him this post and he then morse coded it to the US server which then sent it to AT.....
 
Still could be implemented in the densely populated cities/areas like Southern California, Bay Area, New England, etc.

Expect when it comes time to dig the trenches to bury the fiber lines, US homeowners would bitch and moan if their property landscape changed in any way. The red tape alone in Vermont would be a royal pain in the ass for any company that tried to lay down fiber, with all kinds of permits and public meetings. It would be cost prohibitive long before the workers did any work.
