Nice going so far :) ,though I would of expectecd lower WU times for your Duron 900.

What SETI client are you using?
(BTW when did join you us?) (doh! corrected missing word!)

As usual I agree with Assim1.;) Your wu times seem very long to me.

Are you running gui or text client? If your running the gui are you running it all the time or as a screensaver?

I'm not sure how W.U. is calculated.

I don't leave my computer on all the time. My current preferences are 1) Data analysis always runs and 2) Connect automatically whenever needed (I am on a LAN).

I am using the version that displays the graphics (charts).

If your actually using your computer to do something and don't leave it running all the time your wu times may be about right. Especially if your doing pretty intensive tasks.

I do a lot of things on my computer - play games, surf the net, listen to music, watch videos, ... sometimes do work :). This computer is definately not dedicated to SETI@home.

Just make sure that you've got 'blank screen' enabled in the scrensaver settings ,& set to no more than 5 mins.Displaying the graphics all the time roughly doubles the WU time.
BTW surfing & listening to music takes up very little CPU time :),dunno about watching vids though.

When I surf (with about 10 windows open) & play my mp3's seti is still using over 96% of my cpu. Thats with a P3-500e@620mhz. Those games will definetly thrash your seti times though.:)

Assimilator1: You seem to suggest people use their Seti GUI client as a screensaver a lot. I think it's best NOT to use it as a screensaver AT ALL and just to set it to process all the time like he had it set to before. That way the graphics can never show. IMO mosdef I would change it back the way you had it- no screensaver and running all the time.

You think it'd really improve if I disabled the screensaver? I don't have the graphics running at all..

Well I really don't see why you would need the screensaver on at all if you're running it all the time, graphics or no graphics. It's just redundant to me, that's all.

Ben...98 & co

You misunderstand me ,I hadn't meant to imply that he should use it as a screen saver ,but IF he was using it as a screensaver, blank screen should be used.Runing it always ,MINIMISED is just as good.I was under the impression that mosdef had the SETI window open.
Also you can have it to run as a screensaver AND still have always run on ,to be double sure it'll always be running ;)
1 main advantage though of running it as a screensaver is for PC's with multiple users who might turn SETI off ,with it as a screensaver it will obviously restart itself :).
