What banks are you going to? Why would you have to roll it up? That would defeat the purpose of having them put it into the counting/sorting machine.banks don't take loose change, you have to roll it first before you can exchange it at the bank
ta hell they don't.
I (well my son) takes in his change ALL the time and they take it in. No fee. No deposit required. (we have an ccount there).
BoFA? Enough said.
I have never been to nor heard of a "bank" that requires you to roll your change. WTF? It's a bank, they have to count it.
Fortunately, 99%(?) of them have coin counting machines. Because.. they're a bank.
Agreed. I keep change to a minimum in the car simply by making change from that when purchasing anything.learn to use your coins. is it that hard? the next time you go out, carry 50 cents of pennies on you. pre counted. so when you need 2 quarters, pull that out.
rinse and repeat. Carry $1 worth of nickels or dimes on you. Use them as you need.
The inability for people to use change boggles my mind. That's how coinstar makes a killing.
It's been this way for BofA for atleast 15 years and my credit union for almost as long.I have never been to nor heard of a "bank" that requires you to roll your change. WTF? It's a bank, they have to count it.

Banks have their own industrial rolling machines. They don't want you shorting them a coin or two per roll.
If I'm not mistaken, Coinstar also takes a 8% cut.
You know, for the cost of using the machine.

If you take cash. I get Amazon gift cards and get the full amount.
Really? I thought the only options you had with Coinstar were cash and donation to charity. Though it's been several months since I used one. I'll look into that the next time I take my coins in.
This varies by location. Several stores in my area have Coinstar machines, but not all of them have the toll-free giftcard option. If you take cash. I get Amazon gift cards and get the full amount.

WalMart is one chain that has only the count-for-fee machines...
