The programs that go through your music collection and determine the beats per minute of each song. How accurate are they? 😕

Just wondering... as this one I am using (considered decent) put Diamonds and Pearls by Prince at 163. And I don't know how fast Diamonds and Pearls is, but 163 is in Drum and Bass territory... 😛

Filtering to detect beats is pretty straight forward if the song doesn't change times frequently so I would imagine it would be fairly accurate.

shouldn't you (if you have any musical talent at all) be able to count beats on your own? granted you can't get an exact # very accurately, but it's pretty easy to figure out what 120 is versus 160 by just feeling the beat on your own...

I don't have any musical talent. ^_^ I never played an instrument or read music or sang or anything of that nature.
