I had to start a thread. They are getting no respect. The only person that has given Memphis respect was Steven A. Smith on Sports Reporters. They are the only team so far that has not really been tested. I think they could easily win it all. Everyone said they would be the first one seed out and may even lose to Oral Roberts. I knew all along Duke was the most overrated one seed. Even had them losing to LSU in my bracket.

Duke wasn't overrated, JJ choked. (BTW, I hate Duke, so it's not like I'm sticking up for them) Although Duke was a one man show.

Yeah everyone has said that since round one. They have already beaten UCLA and Gonzaga once this year. They also beat Tennessee and Alabama from that not so weak SEC afterall.
JJ looked like a bitch lastnight.. did you see him constantly complaining and whining to the refs.. LSU guarded him like stink on $hit lastnight.. and he couldn't stand it
his teammates needed to do a better job of creating separation for him...the screens they were running weren't working
he can flourish, given teh right system. he will never be able to create his own shot, but if you put him on a team with a big man who gets double teamed, he will be able to knock down shots
not a superstar, but i see him as a solid outside shooter in the nba
Memphis has been underrated in the tourney. I knew sure as hell they wouldn't be the first to lose as a 1 seed. Duke was a two man show with Shelden and JJ. Memphis has about 6 or 7 EXTREMELY talented guys, and their 5 starters are some of the best in the nation. They've got an excellent coach, and they've played a good Non-Conf schedule to assure they had been tested. The only negative about Memphis is Youth, but that is good in away because they don't really know how to lose.
I think Memphis will be in the Final Four. I'm almost sad I picked them to lose in the championship game, but I felt UCONN would win it all. I'm having doubts now. I've watched Memphis all year, and they are the real deal.
Duke has choked and played from behind several times this year. Memphis hasn't done that at all. Memphis didn't lose to a single non-ranked team this year. They lost to the Sweet 16 team of Duke, the Elite 8 team of Texas, and UAB who has made three straight NCAA trips including a Sweet 16 two years ago.
Memphis is good. Let's not forget that they beat UCLA, Alabama, Cincinatti, Gonzaga, Tennesee, UAB twice, Wisc. Milwaukee, and others. They have been tested? Sh!t. Perhaps not in the 2nd half of the year, but Memphis wasn't even playing close games like Duke and Gonzaga has all year. They blew people out and they've easily handled every team they've faced in the tourney. Their next opponent is UCLA, and they've beaten them before.

HUGE game against UCLA saturday. I was indifferent about us playing them or Gonzaga, but worried about this game. If we win, the season is a success with a Final 4 appearance. If we lose it's a little disappointing in regards to the season.
