How about one of those feel-good threads about how Best Buy RULES? :D

Sweet mother of pearl!!! Best Buy rulezzzzz!!! First, I got in there just getting 80GB WD 7200rpm HD for $75 after MIR. I got two of them and was about to leave. Then at the last moment I look through video cards aisle as I like to do and what don't I see? Radeon 8500 for $119!!! And that's BEFORE $50 rebate! :Q Needless to say, I hopped on this like a horny hoe on a banana and checked out with a grin on my face 😀 The manager wrote that the lowest price in the last thirty days was $139.99 which was AFTER rebate, but apparently, he didn't realize it and lowered it effectively from $190 to $120. Awesome, Radeon 8500 for $70 after MIR is SWEET! And to top it off, I decided to get Maxtor 40GB 7200rpm HD for $50 after MIR & GC as well, I got two of those. So now I'll have fun filling out SEVEN rebates, yummy 🙂

I got the Baldurs Gate II expansion there the other day for $8.99. I'm happy with that deal 🙂

How about this?

The day after Max Payne hit the shelves, Circuit City ran an ad advertising it for $14.99. That's correct; fourteen dollars and ninetynine cents. I got to the store 5 minutes after they opened. All gone. As I'm walking out, I notice a MaxPayne box sitting on the side of a register. Kind of like someone said to the cashier "hold this for me."

I walked up, said, "I'd like to pay for that please." The cashier rung it up. $15 and change, for a game that STILL sells for $45. Circuit City Rocks!

Oh sorry, this is a Best Buy thread....😛

Best Buy does rule. That is where some of us lucky californians got $400 shopping sprees from a mircrosoft screwup. My brother and I were so happy going through BB and choosing WHATEVER we wanted and we didn't even have to pay any money up front!

Lately, BB sucks like all the rest of the national chains. You can find some great deals but customer service sucks. I bought some car stereo stuff there a few weeks ago and the car stereo salesman was SOO unhelpfull. BB employees spend their time chatting with eachother instead of helping customers.

Yea. I went to get a $299 dvd player with a $50 giftcard deal once. The same player was advertised on the webpage at $249 AFTER $50 mail in rebate. I went and grabbed it and took it up front. It rang up at $249 which seemed strange. I then mentioned the $50 giftcard and he looked right at the ad where it said the player was $299 and didn't even seem to notice the price error. I got it for $249 and a $50 giftcard and sure enough the website rebate still worked also. So I got a 5 disk Pioneer DVD player for around $150 after it was all over.

Every experience I've had at BestBuy that went beyond just buying something at shelf price ranged from being a hassle to an excercise in complete futility. And not once have I ever tried to cajole anything that was outrageous and not totally kosher by their own policies. BestBuy does not rule.
