A new board comes out from mb companies about every month or so - usually revisions of the same boards or 'lite'. How about an updated round up for the KT333 bunch that you already did? I'm not talkin' about just the KT333 only either - you can do it for the KT266a's too. I'm just saying, for people who are thinking about getting them at the time when they are maturing (not obsolete) or the next tech has come or is about to come out which by then every revision and lite version of the last tech would have been made.
I ask because many times new *lite* boards come out and we (the consumers) don't really know what the differences are. Some of the websites don't even show the updated/'lite'ened product yet.
I myself searched so much for a review for the MSI KT3 Ultra and the Soyo KT333 Lite as well as the Abit AT7E. I wanted to know what parts come with the retail lite boards and what the major hardware differences are. Instead I find the MSI KT3 Ultra ARU, the Soyo KT333 Dragon Plat and the Abit AT7 Max on just about EVERY review site out there. It's like you review sites try to beat each other to the punch and then boom, forget about it. Now there's also the KT3 Ultra2 and Ultra2 R and I can't find a dedicated write up on the Ultra2.
Also, noone mentioned that the raid on the MSI board doesn't offer 'regular storage' operation. That would have been a nice welcome article of information. I saw it referred to BRIEFLY on one site, on which all they really said is that a jumper refers to it on the board, but is not available. That's what got me thinking in the first place. Thank Goodness I thought to ask MSI myself, or I'd have wasted almost $40 for a feature I would never use. At 76 (board) +14 (usb 2.0 card) I can get myself all the features I want the MSI ARU for.
Don't get mad, get glad. Maybe more people feel the way I do - maybe they don't. The question is, will you do it? It can't be that difficult to do an updated roundup every two months, or is it? It'd just be a few more boards and a little extra text for what you already have. You wouldn't even have to do more benchmarks or anything. Just an updated, more detailed feature list.
Do you think it's a pointless and dumbass idea? or do you not have the time?
