i just had a question on AD and did not quite know where to put it.
under windows, or operating systems... what if it were unix, but not a unix specific question.

i'm sure there are quite a few system administrators on AT who could find this helpful.

wrong place to ask
However I did ask for a similar forum before too... more of like a "Sys Admins" forums. Shot down.

there are a lot of knowledgeable and helpful members here. most of them browse a few forums that covers topics in which they are interested.

an active directory question would likely get a good answer in networking, windows software, or operating systems

use your best judgement. remember to search the forums, as your question may have been answered before anyway. if you dont get an answer somewhere, PM a mod and ask them to move it for you.

what about a db question. sure SQL is likely windows, but what about oracle, or DB2?

even DB administration/implementation?

what about clustering, fail-over, loadbalancing?
what about DR?

there are many different topics that are IT related that cannot fit into other categories.

Also Evadman note that theres an 'IT Computing' section on the main site and maybe it's appropriate to have an accompanying sub-forum for it?
