I have a bh6 with c366@566 just sitting here (for 22 hours so far :)) I just upgraded to a new mobo/cpu and would like to put the leftovers to good use, I could use a nic, cheap video, dimm, floppy and hdd, if anyone in Northern Va. has an old atx case for peanuts I could use one of them too,
this setup would put out about 1.54 mks.

EDIT , I got the nic, and video covered, thanks mech!

<< I'm not very happy with what I had to pay for an 8 port KVM switch >>

RC,

I know the pain. I found three sources for a particular 6 porter at a reasonable price. It turned out that NONE had it in stock and NONE thought they'd even be able to get it again.

On the plus side, I did score ten floppy drives yesterday at $5 each, including the necessary mounting hardware.:) So now, I have the CPUs (P2-300's that do 450), the NICs, cables and the floppy drives for Rack 2.:D

Ray,

I've got a P100 sitting here, as well as a handfull of 4MB, 72 pin SIMM. This stuff has your name on it, so drop me an eMail (I don't do PMS) with your address and I'll get it out to you Monday.

I can get 2 more nodes up if anyone has 2 old vid cards(isa would work just fine).**Got em, Thanks guys ;)**

I also have a few drives I cant seem to get the bios to recognize.
1 seagate 540mb #ST3541A
1 maxtor 504mb #7504AV
1 WD 255mb #WDAC2250-32f

Im not 100% sure they all work but Im tired of messing with them.
If anybody wants one just holler :).

Edit: Also have a couple k5 pr133, it runs on 3.52 volt.

Wulf: I have an old Vesa bus graphics card collecting dust. Can your mobo use it?

Does anyone have a GFD for a slot A Athlon? I have an Athlon 700 but never had the courage to rip the cover off the CPU. Now that Asus has a beta bios that supports changing the cache multiplier perhaps it's time I try.

Yes I did. Did you get my reply?

Slacker, are you needing ISA or PCI or AGP vid card? I may have a spare ISA vid card for ya.

I found a video card I had forgotten about, an ATI mach64, I also found an old 3com isa nic, and pulled a leftover atx power supply out of my closet, I need to find a floppy, a minimal amount of dimm memory and a hard drive, at that point I could set it up without a case, still lookin' for a cheap atx case in Northern Va.

Thanks Mechbgon and Ray :)

PM coming at ya

It looks like all I need now is sum dimm (mmmmmm.. Dim Sum :p)

It pays to look through your old stuff, initially I thought I needed video, nic, floppy, as well as hdd, and dimm, but it turns out that I had the video and nic already, I also found a floppy drive but I dont know if it is good or not, I will find out when I get everything together and try to get it set up :)

Thanks to everyone who responded with offers of stuff :) the system I am trying to set up will do about 500 keys a day, it will be doing nothing but cracking :)

Ive seen 16mb dimms for $10-$15 in the fs/t forum and eb@y.

Heres a link to a thread with 2 32mb dimms for $15 a piece and 2 pII233's for $20 a piece.

I AM ROTFLMAO!

I have that system up and cracking RIGHT NOW!

Sheesh, I started out thinking I needed all these parts when I had everything I needed (sort of)

Where do I start?

First, there is the bh6 with the fried fan headers
then the c366 that does 566 but only at 2.3 volts :)
I mounted that atx board in a hacked "A/T" case, it barely fit and only has the lower four mounting holes attached, the power supply was supposed to be bad, but it is working for now, it is sitting on top of the case cause there is no room to mount it inside, I dont have an atx power switch so I used an old hdd led wire to hotwire it :)
I used an old 1x caddy style scsi cd rom drive, which is sticking halfway out of the front of the case because the motherboard is in the way :) found an old scsi card and popped it in

the video and nic were pulled from an old 486 system I had laying around
I swiped a 64mb stick of ram from my sons computer
a floppy drive that I thought was dead is working fine but I didnt even need it because of the hard drive

O.K. the hard drive :) It was in the 486 system, it wouldnt boot and kept saying it had bad sectors at boot up (still does :)) it had win98 installed on it in the 486 box but would never load to the desktop with all kinds of errors, I put it into my Franken-cracker and booted into safe mode and removed almost everything from device manager and restarted and it did its thing and a couple of reboots later it was fully up and running with net access through my 5 port switch to my roadrunner connection :)

Borrowed monitor
Hacked A/T case
Bad hard drive
dead floppy resurected
stolen memory ;)
antique cd rom sticking about 5 inches out the front of the case frame
ancient 3com isa nic
old asss ati mach64 video
bh6 with burnt fan headers
c366 cookin' at 566 at 2.3 volts
power supply sittin' on top of the case frame
hot wire power on system :)
no way the cover can go on this thing, it is not the type with the removeable side panels :( and there is no way the face plate could go on it either

But it is cracking at 1.54 mks :):):)

Does anyone know how I can control the desktop of this machine over my lan? I have to put my sons monitor back on his system :)

Viz, see if networkman has any Win95 licenses left, he was selling them on FS/FT for a very reasonable $18 or so, sealed full version.
