how about a thread view counter?

I tried doing a search here for "view" and "counter" but I didnt come up with anything that pertained to what I wanted to ask.

Would it be possible for Zuni to impliment a view counter for threads? for example, dvdtalk forums.
 
It would be possible and it would have some value. However, it's not going to happen.

The novelty value it provides doesn't justify the extra load it would put on the servers.
 
This has been discussed many times....it would make the forums much slower with no real purpose. I don't care if someone has viewed a thread a thousand times, all I care about is the content.
 
That feature IS included in Fusetalk. It was implemented here for a few days, but the DB server couldn't handle the load.

That's too bad. And the forums are slow anyways without it. I think it would be an interesting feature to have, a la FW, but we've gotten by for so long without it.
 
I think it'd be too slow to want to run it anyways, so we shall just keep what we have and be happy with it.
