I bet there's a ton of this going on in the desktop market too with overclocking. You can get a $55 xp1600+, overclock it to 1800 speeds (for free) and sell it as that in a complete system. The average consumer would NEVER know because they're not going to pull the chip out of their computer to check actual speeds.

He sold what he claimed to be an 800 Mhz laptop for $800. When the auction closed, he mailed a $25 piece of junk to the lucky winner

Apparently, this kid is more of an idiot than a scam artist.

"Cuff em' and Stuff em' Andy...."nip it in the bud..." lol, it's sad that those people thought there laptops were 233-266. But then again, that's your typical user. When the machine posts 66mhz Intel Pentuim processor, your supposed to multiply by 4 right? lol

yeah, i've figured out plenty of ways to scam people... never done it though... someone will figure it out, and then they'll call the cops. actually... arbitrage isn't illegal.
