I've had moderators edit my title at least twice on other forums. On one, it was Tailpipe Fucker. On the other, it's Chronic Masturbator.

I forgot about that one.

I lost my custom title in one of the forums changes. I used to have "Senior Member" as my custom title even though my post count was much above that title. I got it because I complained to the mods when they created the member levels above it and told them I thought that it was silly and unnecessary. Instead of Elite Member, I was "Senior Member" forever.

I actually wish that was still my title. I prefer to be judged on my posts, not the title.

Huh, I always thought that was a consequence of becoming an Elite Member and then losing it, the mods therefore manually changing the person's title to Senior/Diamond/etc Member. I remember it happening to Lord Evermore and a couple other ex-Elites.

EDIT: Hmm, actually Lord Evermore is a Diamond and nearly a Lifer so maybe it was someone else. Or maybe I just imagined it.

FWIW: Judging a post is a multi-step process for me, and depends how much I have invested in, or knowledge on. the topic at hand. I am a visual learner, and first check to see if I recognize the avatar. From there I read the content of the post, note spelling or grammar errors. I then decide how much opinion is being projected, and how much it aligns with my opinion. From there, I either agree with and try to add more, or rebut in an either good or bad way, depending on how the dissenting opinion was presented.

OP to give you a straight answer, you must have the capability of exhibiting exceptional wit and insight in numerous postings, qualities which will then charm a mod to almost instinctively christen you with an affectionate nickname. Either that, or you must be well connected.
