I have been an Ubuntu user since the Hoary days. Quit trying to sell Ubuntu as a XP or Vista replacement. Ubuntu is not a XP or Vista clone.

Ubuntu is very different than Windows. I'm not saying don't steer people to Ubuntu. Just be honest that things will not work as they do in Windows and some things do not work well at all. (Like flash, some web sites, some codecs, streaming videos, etc etc.)

I use ubuntu on my 2nd computer. I'd have to say its like a slightly raw version of mac os. it can be a replacement, but it depends what you want to put up with. same goes for mac os.

Hmm. That seems to be a not-uncommon complaint. I've read at least three cases including yours that mentioned this.

4 cases out of tens of thousands of installations makes it not-uncommon?

LOL. I used to run NT 3.5, 3.51, and 4.0, and now - I don't remember a damn thing about them, other than they used PROGMAN.EXE and stuff. Ugh!

NT 3.x used progman but NT4 used Explorer by default.

Op,
you'd better change your name to Mr.Contridiction.
As pointed out by others, whatever you say ends up being againt another thing you say.
Not only you lack of knowledge but also you're quite ignorant.
