If anyone here has a mechanic in Houston that they trust, please let me know . . .

Don't want to get ripped off, is all, and I've had a couple bad experiences with one or two shops in saint louis.

I don't really know who to send you to as I do all my own work on classic as well as newer vehicles. What kind of car are you working on and what needs to be done?

no work, just want a third party inspection on a '97 town car. Everything appears to be great with the car. The dealer (it's a trade in) offers a 5-day/500 mile warantee so I want to know where to take it to get it looked at in those days.

I had the same problem for a number of years as well (not knowing a shop that wouldn't rip me off). Just a couple of years ago, I finally found a fair auto shop, and I won't take my cars anywhere else now. Here's where I go:

AVS Automotive Repair 281-540-3200
9900 J.M. Hester
Humble, TX

A guy named Larry White is the one I always deal with, and I've never had anything but good vibes from him and his operation, unlike most others I've been to.

The shop is just a mile or so south of the FM 1960 and Hwy 59 intersection, on the southbound feeder road.

Hope that helps.
