Beltway 8 and Bellaire is Chinatown (good cheap food)
Westheimer and Post Oak or Westheimer and 610 has a lot of stuff to do (Galleria Mall + good ritzy food)
Westheimer and Kirby has some nice places to eat (Chuy's for good Tex-Mex) Also, River Oaks Shopping district. $$ but nice area.
There is a place on Richmond and Fountainview (close to a Dave & Buster's) called KC's Sports bar which does $12 steak dinners on Monday nights. It is really good for the price, but it is really relaxed there (it is a bar).
Kemah Boardwalk has a few good seafood places, but that is near Galveston/Clear Lake.
Downtown has some nice restaurant. There is a expensive good steakhouse next to Minute Maid Park called Vic & Anthony's (1510 Texas Ave. 713.228.1111)
On Westheimer, there are two places with the same restaurant (Churrascos). One is near the Beltway 8 and the other is near Kirby. This place is good.
Kirby and University (Rice Village <shopping center full of the wealthy and college urbanites>) Good food, good shopping areas, cute college girls.
😉 😛 Ruggles, Two Rows, Kubo's... all good food places.
Montrose (great, great art district)
San Jacinto, Fannin, & Montrose (close to Rice Village, there is Hermann Park, the Museum of Natural Science with Body World on display right now, an IMAX, and a Hosuton Garden Center. Close by is the Fine Arts Museum ($7 for a ticket on discount, I think 9-10 otherwise). Miller Outdoor Theatre is here too, and they usually have free concerts and plays.

Close to here is Midtown which has some good restaurants. A good Vietnamese place is a place called Mai's.
Texas and Louissiana (Theatre district <Jones Hall, Alley Theatre,...) All Pricey, but fun. Jones hall is having a Johann Strauss Jr. performance this weekend.

In Sugar Land. Just go South on 59 past Beltway 8, there is the Sugar Land City Hall and First Colony Mall. They have a place called Japaneiro's (fusion South American & Japanese). Plus a wine bar and a few bars and steak houses. Also a decent shopping area, but no where close to Rice Village.
There is the Toyota Center (but we didn't make the playoffs)
🙁, Minute Maid Park (but we are going to suck this year)
🙁, Reliant stadium (we have been sucking for the past few years)
🙁, The Dynamo are supposively alright if you like soccer, but it is at the UH Soccer field.
As for strip joints. I have heard that Michael's is high brow, Colorado is supposively nice too. 59 near Hillcroft. There are many other places on Richmond, and also on Westheimer. I have been to none of them, so I can't tell you exactly how they are, except that I heard that Michaels is the most $$ cover.
Night life, clubs. Main Street in Downtown is pretty happening. Mid town next to downtown has a few places. There are a few places across the 59 highway from Downtown. Westheimer has a few places, too.
There are a few other places, btu that should cover you for a week or two.
