I tried it before, can't get anything.

Where exactly are you at? I have a directional antenna on my roof with a preamp and I get them all just fine. One of those crappy indoor receivers probably won't get the job done.

The channels are:

WATM (abc)
WJAC (nbc)
WTAJ (cbs)
WWCP (fox)
WPSU (pbs)

Some of them have repeaters in state college. I think fox and abc do.

I'm over toward stormstown a little bit, so I'm on the right side of State College to pick them up.

I'm about 1.5 hours north of philly. Just south of stroudsburg. Granted I never did go the external antenna route...

I'm very close friends with two Whole Foods employees who have worked there for years. One is in the meat department. He explained to me in detail the differences compared to other stores.

I'd tell you the truth, but ... nah....

For being so anal about money, go ahead and waste your money at Whole Foods.

🙂

You missed the key words.

SOME FOODS are cheaper/better/ meat is not one of them.

I don't buy meats at Whole foods....

Actually you're wrong again. Their meat is the main reason most people go there. It just isn't as good as most people think it is, which is what I was going to go into but I'm too lazy to as I'm sure you'll try to argue that even though I have a good source. Their meat is however, better than most other grocery stores.

And everything else is marked up just as well. A frozen Kashi meal goes for $3 at Target. It's $6 at my local Whole Foods. Almost everything is this way. You obviously haven't shopped there much.

Yeh, that's was conservative "out of ass" number. No clue what your 401k, insurance, or withholdings are.

But point remains, not a punk income by any means for a rural area.

It's not bad for now 🙂
7% towards 401k equivalent. 2 exemptions, various insurances are like 130 bucks a month. Then I get bent over by uncle sam and such for >30%

Eh? That's net. Not gross. That's probably close to 60k gross. Not chump change, especially for a rural area.

I know its net. I even typed it out.
I was in a similar situation as him 5 years back. Bought my $350k condo when I got my $85k job and one could get financing if you had a pulse. It was a struggle because I didn't do my homework and didn't factor in $5k in taxes ($400/mo). Didn't help that I was maxing out my 401k and interest was at 6.8% then.
I was cutting it very close then. 50% raise and a refi later and I'm breathing a lot easier now.
Just sharing some past experiences.

Come to think of it. My situation is not like his at all. Rates are a lot lower now, plus I did an interest only loan, and my cost of living is a lot higher near the city.
You should be OK op.

I'm trying not to screw myself and have no money left over. I'm hoping to get that bump to the 85k range soon, but who knows. Perhaps I should do the jobs of 6 people instead of 5 heh

Some more numbers for you to digest:
$120k home, 1300 sq ft. 2 adults living in it.

Mortgage $650/month, which includes RE taxes ($1800/yr) and insurance (~$650/yr)
Water+sewer ~$25/month
Power+gas ~$100/month (averaged over the year, most of this comes from heating+cooling)
Food ~$300/month
Internet+TV+netflix $71/month
Cellphone $38/month
Car insurance+gas+maintenance $200/month
Home improvement and maintenance $460/month *BUT* I do a lot of upgrading on my house, and that figure also includes a new roof for $3200.

Having only one older, paid-off car and doing my own work on both car and house really saves a lot.
