just for the record, I was not ripping on anyone for washing dishes by hand, I was just merely stating once you are at the point where you can't afford to run the electricity to run appliances, you are hitting rock bottom and it's going to be tough to find any other corners to cut spending



Usually the only dishes I wash by hand are pots/pans that (I think) teflon doesn't do well with in the washing machine, and of course the giant things like pizza pans.

Friend of mine thought I was crazy washing my pizza pan, saying I was ruining the "Seasoning"

You're doing it wrong. Dishes go in the Dishwasher, clothes go in the washing machine

my cleaning lady starts next week.

still on the fence about once/week vs every other week... I probably only "need" every other week, but she's so inexpensive ($10/hour) that it's tempting me to just say fuck it and have her come every week.

I'd kill for a dishwasher, but as big as my apartment is, I don't have a lot of closet/drawer space. it's hard justifying losing an entire cabinet to put one in. I end up just using paper plates/plastic utensils most of the time (when it's just me by myself at least... the regular dishes come out for company)

Fill your trash with a generous amount of used condoms. You can fill them with hand lotion or whatever, but just be sure that you have manufactured a certain air of mystique about you when she ponders about 'this man whose house she cleans'.

Also, panties.








Nice tiny ones that look as if they were torn of some athletic and stylish girl. Those should be discarded in the trash, as well. But only once every 2-3 months. It's easy to go overboard trying to impress them with these. You have to be subtle.
