Possible in a way, through a tax accountant or tax preparer as a proxy. If your tax preparer has power of attorney in regards to your tax issues, and makes the payment for you. You can pay the tax preparer cash, and they can remit payment electronically or using a check.
You can pay federal taxes in cash if you want to, yes.

Fun to see how all Republican efforts are centered around trying to shift blame away from themselves as opposed to, you know, actually solving a problem.

Well, you have to understand that from a Republican way of thinking, as long as they don't get the blame for not doing anything or making shitty decisions, then they are doing their jobs. Remember, it's not about doing a good job, it's about making sure any shitty decisions you make are the fault of the evil Democrats.

Wow, wasn't even aware cash was an option.

Seems the limit is $500 per transaction though. Not sure how that works out when you're being taxed on a $100k+ salary, and may have other enterprises that you need to pay taxes on.

Yes, well I guess that's what happens when you have no policy goals outside of tax cuts for rich people.

I think him imagining getting off on a homosexual in an electric chair is closer to truth for this repressed lunatic. He needs another good boning to let go of his tension. I mean it has been three weeks since he glory holed his way to releasing his inner nut … many people have said …. Many of the best people

Would make way more sense than a couple earning $200K a year in Louisiana not having a bank account cause they're living paycheck to paycheck.
It is not that he does not have a bank account, it is that there was never $5000 or more in any one account at any one time. There is several possibilities here, either he lives pay check to pay check and is seriously living above his means, or he is hiding his money by spreading it out between many different small accounts (seems like more trouble then it is worth), or he is moving it to undisclosed (off shore) accounts.

Seems designed so that if part X of the shutdown is unpopular they can claim they voted to fund that and so it's really the Democrats' fault.

I don't think that will be very effective and they would be better off doing their jobs instead of acting like children, but here we are.

I'm betting the goal here is to starve agencies that they don't like by simply not funding them.
The IRS audits your backers? No problem, the GOP will simply vote down their rung on the CR ladder.

I can see it and don't have a login.
Yeah, sometimes it seems to take a while for the Tweets to actually load in a thread.

Either way, the text is this:

JOHNSON says he’s considering a “laddered CR,” which would extend individual agencies budgets for different periods of time.

This would effectively create a cascade of shutdown threats

I'm honestly shocked that there was even an attempt to toss out George Santos, honestly. Not surprised in the slightest that it failed--and not sure why some Democrats voted "no" but I read that they wanted a conviction instead of just tossing him out (?) In any case, there were enough GOP votes to keep him.

He's the spot-on perfect avatar for the modern GOP. Fraudulent, lying and smug about it. I fully expect him to run for President in eight years or so.

NY R's had to do something as a token gesture to try and have a reasonable chance at keeping their seats in '24. It wasn't ever gonna work though, so I can see some logic in the D's that voted no as well. Prevents a tit for tat precedent setting all while knowing it wasn't going to pass.

They made the attempt because he committed the cardinal sin of politics. He fucked with rich people's money. My bet is he will still be removed later when he is either found guilty, or the committee comes back with it's finding. IMHO the only reason the GOP didn't vote to remove him is because their margins are so tight that it is going to be nearly impossible to get anything passed as is and he, at least, votes how he is told.

Some Democrats voted no because of the old adage, 'don't interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.'

There is also a parliamentary rule that only someone who voted on the winning side can request that a bill be brought back for reconsideration. This is why Moscow Mitch would often vote with the majority on bills he opposed when he knew he was going to lose.

I just had a thought. (Yes, it hurt.)

Are Sherman, MTG, Matty, BoBo and their compatriots old enough to understand why it's so important to oppose Russia?

I don't feel like looking up their ages.

Nope. All they see from Putin is he opposes gays and repeats Nazi as much as them.

Absolute proof that the GOP has no interest in actually helping govern the country, and ensuring prosperity for all. The GOP is a party of authoritarians. They give zero fucks about the little people.

They actually hate people like George Santos, and are actively making laws to suppress people like George Santos. But because he votes republican, they will tolerate him and protect him until they don't need him anymore. Then they will put him in the meat grinder and throw him out with the rest of the trash.

All that shit about investigating Biden, when they have zero fucking proof, is the exact thing they accuse democrats of, they are weaponizing government.

Has this been mentioned yet?

During a conversation on the “War on Technology” at Benton, Louisiana’s Cypress Baptist Church — unearthed by X user Receipt Maven last week — the Louisiana representative talked about how he installed “accountability software” called Covenant Eyes on his devices in order to abstain from internet porn and other unsavory websites.

“It scans all the activity on your phone, or your devices, your laptop, what have you; we do all of it,” Johnson told the panel about the app.

“It sends a report to your accountability partner. My accountability partner right now is Jack, my son. He’s 17. So he and I get a report about all the things that are on our phones, all of our devices, once a week. If anything objectionable comes up, your accountability partner gets an immediate notice. I’m proud to tell ya, my son has got a clean slate.”

The shit a lot of evangelicals get up to sounds absolutely crazy to most of society.

Anyway I bet they both have burners. The only thing those people like more than appearing pious to each other is doing all kinds of shit they're not supposed to without getting caught.
