No criming planned here... of course, simply planning a wide range of illegal actions at the presidential level, with the direct intent to overthrow American democracy isn't a crime as it wasn't implemented...

Having attorneys and ex-generals draw up a proposed executive order that reached the President's desk, ordering the Department of Defense to seize voting machines in states Trump lost, with the goal of reversing the election outcomes. Having attorneys and generals that are apparently unaware of the Posse Comitatus Act is bad, having them as direct advisors to the President is nearly unbelievable, except in Trumplandia. Directing the US military to enforce domestic policy -- which is illegal, and ordering them to take further illegal actions to violate a range of election laws to keep the sitting president in office, as a proposed order on the President's desk is beyond the pale.

Along with actually having arguments in the oval office about directly imposing martial law - for the sole purpose of keeping Trump in office. Which some advisors managed to argue successfully against.

Odds of any of this showing up on Fox "news"?

I think people are not looking at the bigger issue/crime here. Yes, ripping up those documents is illegal, but the bigger and most important crimes will be included in those documents. I suspect that what ever is on those documents he "tried" to rip up and go away, will be more damning than ripping them up.

Also more importantly we now know Trump directly asked Barr to have the DOJ seize voting machines so it's no longer a question of if these were just discussions being had by aides - Trump was directly involved.

To think that the investigation into those crimes Trump committed in order to stay in power can vanish into a pink mist by having the Repubs taking back the House is chilling and they'll do it if given the chance. Beating back two impeachments of Trump that clearly exposed his culpability is proof positive that the Repubs will do anything to seize control of the nation.

Oh if they take control of the House they will immediately cancel this investigation and then launch an investigation INTO the investigation.

That being said, it will be too late by then. It is completely obvious the committee plans to finish this before the midterms.

I'm not saying ordering the military to seize the voting machines or ordering a state AG to find votes isn't damning enough. But the truly damning, I order a drone strike on Joe Biden, those discussions wouldn't have happen in front of staffer. Only in the inner circle.

We have direct evidence, courtesy of the Orange One's giant pie hole, that says he wanted Pence to overturn the results of a legitimate election! When is it going to be game over?

Never. We have 40% of the population that deem Hillary calling them a basket of deplorables as worse than the made up election fraud of any criming by said cult leader is doing to remain, gain or get back into power. They want to WIN! WIN! WIN! They do not care how it happens or at what cost. Amazing how religious zealots forget the meaning of the religion they are using to get to their end game. Jesus sure was against immigration and always sided with the aristocracy.

Something that whooshed by in the news virtually unnoticed was that democrat Senator Ben Ray Luján's suffered a stroke. And that would have absolutely affected what democrats can do and can get done in the US senate. Hopefully as reported, the senator from New Mexico will fully recover.

Reconciliation bills devoted to finance and the approving of nominees to the Supreme Court could be done with 50 votes and the tie-breaker.
Without Luján, that can only be done with help from at least one Republican senator.

Why is it that only the democrats have such terrible luck? That only democrats get strokes and only democrats die in office? Never the republican, only the democrat. Can not Donald Trump PLEASE drop dead? Just once? Or one of those fossil republican senators like McConnell or Grassley? Why always the democrat?
JFK was assassinated. RFK was gunned down but easily could have become president. Senator Paul Wellstone, again another democrat, died in a place crash. Lincoln was a republican that died in office but I don't count Lincoln because Lincoln was really a democrat at heart.
So WHY does this crap always happen to democrats and only to democrats?

Hopefully senator Ben Ray Luján's will fully recover and continue to serve. But with the bad luck democrats continue to have and considering what is at stake, the loss of just one democrat in the US senate would put a halt to insurrection investigations, to US supreme court nominees, to BBB and to voter rights bills.
It's bad enough luck that democrats should have Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to put up with, losing one senate democrat from a stroke would be unimaginable bad luck. And bad luck is all democrats have these days.

If democrats lose one senator in the US senate, then I know Donald Trump is the true devil, destine to rule the earth, and destroy humanity. Just as predicted in scripture. :eek:

If you can't remember a 10 minute phone call to the POTUS during an insurrection you are either lying or one dumb mother fucker. Or both. Regardless, if your memory is that bad you have no mental capacity holding a office of this level and probably need to be diagnosed for some sort of dementia.
