Such an empty threat, as if Garland would stay as AG in a second Trump term. He’d either resign or ask to resign which he would then do.
Bannon is clearly threatening to impeach Garland if Garland indicts Trump and Republicans win control of congress in 2022. Again though, who cares as there is a 0% chance of Garland being convicted.

If Republicans win the House I think you can expect numerous impeachments of Biden and various cabinet members.

Oh absolutely that was sort of my point, they gonna do it simply to appease Dear leader regardless. This is an empty threat.

Probably won't feel too empty to Garland, who along with his family is likely experiencing an uptick in harassment from Trumpists now. I hope it only gives him more resolve to indict the POS.

Dear Leader will want appeasing though, that is his thing. That thin-skinned imperious douche wanted to bring Bill McRaven out of retirement just to court martial him. Still cracks me up.

How much widespread violence can be expected if Trump is actually indicted and arrested?

Like some small clashes and widespread protests or are we talking Rwanda Radio?

My guess is very little. Trump can't help but be boisterous, so he will yell about how it is all political, and then loudly proclaim that they played right into his hand and he will now win the court case so hard that it will bring down the entire US government. That will quell the violence. Then Trumps lawyers will use every trick in the book to draw the case out so it takes years to get it to court, so by the time Trump is actually found guilty (if he ever is, he is not that young or in good health) people will be used to the idea, and not much will happen.

They're going to impeach Biden plus a few cabinet officials, blow the debt ceiling, hold marathon hearings on Hunter Biden, and fail to pass a spending bill resulting in a shutdown.
I agree with you on all those except for the debt ceiling. They don't seem to have the stomach for that one, thankfully.

anyone watching the hearings live?

i'm only reading summaries but the evidence is pretty damn clear trump knew all his claims were bullshit and ran with them anyway
I think that's exactly what they're trying to show, essentially building the prosecution's case for the DOJ should they take the reins.

Or they’re tired of all the drag and bullshit that comes with the former President.
Fox, Hannity, Carlson and Ingraham et al also weren't mentioned today whereas they were at the first hearing. They just cut away to a wide shot of the room and had Tucker talk over them for that part. Hope a split screen version comes out.

MSNBC did quite the job close to what you were asking for a day or so after the first hearing. Can't find the clip though.

I saw the hearing today, and I think that's only part of what they were doing. They were also demolishing Trump's various election fraud claims. They got down into the details of those claims, and had people from the FBI testifying about investigating every last one of them, and what they found.

Also, Barr is torpedoing Trump big time here. In the taped testimony, he was offering up stuff he wasn't even asked about. He even managed to explain why the Dinesh DeSouza video is bunk.

I think Barr is pissed at Trump since he played Trump's lapdog the whole time, even sanitizing the Mueller report for him, and ultimately Trump just threw him under the bus.

Why in his resignation letter did he praise Trump while in his testimony he said one of the reasons for leaving early was Trump’s “bullshit”?
It's the same reason that you say something like "My opportunities for advancement were limited" when asked in an interview why you left your pervious job and then say "My old manager was a psycho hose beast" after you're hired.

Yes. Yesterday's hearing was setting up the 'there's no way he couldn't have realized he lost' narrative, which is accurate insomuch as Trump can understand the reality swirling around him.

And then their supporters will whine about how the government is broken because of "both sides."
