I had purchased House of the Dead Overkill for Wii on a whim from Best Buy for a bit over $20. Figured it would be a nice diversion if I just wanted to sit back and shoot stuff.

Fast forward to last night. After a few burgers, pork chops, and some beer; me and a friend start up this game. We played it all the way through until around 1am. It is a game that doesn't take itself very seriously, and reminds me of the fun I had playing stuff like Area 51 at the arcades. However, this time my characters have a storyline and curse like drunken sailors...no, drunken sailors would blush at the way these guys talk. Add to all this the fact that I finally got some serious use out of my Nyko perfect shot gun attachment, and I pretty much had a perfect evening at my temp bachelor pad.

Some things you can't buy. Like good friends, good times, a temp bachelor pad (wife and kids out of town), and some seriously mindless fun.

Edit: BTW, best into credits background EVER for a Wii game!

Cool man. I loved House of the Dead. Now I have two reasons to get a Wii, Punch Out and HotD. :) How does it look?

House of the overkill, is def. a good game. I also use the nyko handgun accessory. it makes things so much easier. (i use this for the conduit as well)

It's a fun game to play with friends but the whole combo system is annoying as hell when you and a friend are trying to shoot the same thing, one of you gets it and the other loses their streak!

HotD 3 looks and plays better, and HotD 2 plays better than all of them, but overkill is fun for a playthrough despite it's problems. The main thing I didnt like is that the zombies really didnt try to get you...theyre super slow, and they only manage to hit you because it takes an eternity to reload. And tne entire game is just room after room of slow zombies in every corner...there's no excitement at all. Its hardly one of the best Wii games though, but its fun if you want to blast zombies and not worry about them fighting back.

Are these problems that can be adjusted with a difficulty setting, though?
