Anybody catch this new series from Showtime? I just downloaded the showtime app for iPad and decided to check it out.

It was a little too over the top for me especially seeing Don Chedel's (sp?) ass in the first 30 seconds. Had it been Kristen Bell's it would have had me hooked. 🙂

It was pretty over the top. Had a bit of fun talking about it around the office this week though. We'll see how it progresses.

I liked it. I found it stylish and different and pretty well done.

If nothing else, it wasn't a cop show, a lawyer show, a cop and lawyer show, a sitcom with a laugh track, or a Republican Presidential debate (best comedy!)

It managed to be stylish and hip without even one vampire or zombie or alien cloaked in a killer human female body, which, as we all know, is how they move amongst us.

As a bonus, the only island setting was Manhattan, but there were zero obscure multi-decade time shifts.

And then there was the "two hot lesbos going at it in a restaurant bathroom" scene, which I found dramatically integral to the plot in ways I can't quite put my finger on, but remain adamantly convinced was necessary. 😉

I thought it was alright, but sub-par for a premium channel show. I'll be watching it for a few more weeks to see where they're going with it.

While we're talking about Showtime...I had forgotten just how F'd up Shameless is. It's entertaining, but definitely not "feel good" TV.

That's one of those things that doesn't need to be explained. It's integral to the plot and it always will be. Any shows that don't have two hot lesbos going at it in a public place clearly do not care about the fine art of plot development.
