Nope, the nomination process has just started. He won the first contest in Iowa, now it's time to move on to New Hampshire and the rest of the primary states.

The Democratic party machine is backing Dunbar, but that's only worth so much.

stempler betrays frank and brings his down fall

and the uk version was 3 seasons.
Netflix put in fillers to create a 4th season
 
Personally, I was proud of Doug for "doing the needful."

There's NO WAY he could have let Rachael live.
1) She knew too much about things she shouldn't know.
2) She DID try to kill Doug...(deservedly or not) so she had to be killed.

Yes, season 3 sucked!!!! They just dragged it along. Thanks for the UK ending. That's interesting. I don't see why Doug would do that though. In season three, I could see why he would do it but Doug is part of the team again for season 4.

I
never watched the UK version so I'm not sure what you're referring too. In the Netflix season 3 version, Doug was no longer part of the inner circle but at the end, he was. He is also part of the white house staff by season end.

Hmm, I know they were talking about the move to the New Hampshire competition (right to the end, which led to Claire leaving), but the way they managed it, I could swear Dunbar had admitted defeat like it wasn't just in Iowa. Jackie supported Dunbar but then turned on her, right?

Ah that would make sense, but it might be a red herring for people that know the original.

I'm not very familiar with the original so don't know how much similarities in plot there are between them.

Jackie supports Dunbar now. She actually found Dunbar admirable and went to her for free. Before she was asking for cabinet positions.

It has to be Stamper then. The ONLY person who can link to Frank's downfall is Stamper. All the murders and etc, it's all untraceable now.

It has to be Stamper's betrayal. It can't even be anyone else even if the show tried.

I couldn't remember where she ended up, but yeah see that she went to Dunbar. I think it's more about hitting back at Frank. It also seems to have been a result of the situation with Remy (she basically wanted him and then when he shunned her she wanted to get away).

That's true if that's how they plan to make his downfall the result of that (which seems obvious since I don't see why they'd have kept those lines running otherwise, and especially the emphasis on Doug in season 3), but that doesn't necessarily have to be how it happens (I personally hope it's not as I think that's been fairly junk from almost the get go). Claire alone could take him down, and I think there's others that could as well. With how it's setting up, it actually seems like it's going to be a huge letdown. They built up the progression and the characters and now it's like they're just pushing them down to low level political and personal BS. Which might have been their intention from the start (i.e. House of Cards can crumble from small things), but with the spectacle they were building up it's a disappointment.

Stamper doesn't actually know that Frank did that stuff though does he? Only thing he can actually do is say that Frank had involvement with the people (and actively did work to ruin Russo) and told him to take care of Rachel, but that will be the worst route for him. Basically he's in a no-win situation with that as he can't really let anyone else know as anyone that uses that then he'll get the worst of it.

what started the impeachment talks in the first place? Walker's lawyer talking with a witness?
(witness tampering/obstruction of justice?)

she hates herself because she couldn't accomplish the stuff she wanted w/o Franks help as Pres.

then she says that Franks not enuf for her.
WTF?!

also, Frank turning on Remy like that. Wtf x 2.

why did Pres Walker renege on his promise to make Frank Underwood his Secretary of State?
(thus starting the overall plot of this series.)

the whole 'we need you more in Congress' seemed like a lame excuse.

Nope, I loved it just as much as Seasons 1 and 2. The ending was kind of abrupt, but that was just because I didn't realize I had watched all 13 episodes.

Not so much found her admirable as realized Frank was just going to burn her for fuel IMO.

It makes perfect sense to me. She married the man with the semi-spoken agreement that they'd work together as partners to advance their careers and influence.
Now she realizes (especially after her failure at the UN) that Frank only ever had one career in mind, his. Sure he'd help her if he could, but it he had to sacrifice her to save his ass he would.
That's enough to make even a cold woman like Claire think twice about her plans.

Honestly I think this is the best season yet. Seasons 1 and 2 were all about Frank's backroom manipulations to get to where he wants. Season 3 shows him dealing with new elements that he's unprepared for, opposition he's never had to face before, and burning bridges with key allies in a bid to simply hold onto what he's grabbed. Sure he's not out of the game by far, but he's struggling to stay afloat whereas before he was always taking decisive initiative; and it shows in the character.

They explained it in season 2. Tusk saw Frank for the dangerous wolf that he was and wanted to keep him away from the President (and in turn secure his own influence from subversion).
