House of Cards - Season 3

I have to power through the last 6 episodes of GoT season 4 first. TOO MUCH TV. TOO LITTLE TIME.

Work. Kids. Working out. Then somehow I can fit an hour in a few days a week to whittle through these shows.

Season 3 sucks balls. I want to know more about Rachel and how they will take down Frank Underwood, not politics.

You kidding me? It's the exact opposite I love and how it should be. This is a politics drama. That lame Rachel story is correctly treated as a side liability story.

I hate season 3! It got so boring because Frank is no longer in danger of losing anything. It's not even a drama anymore. It's just a simulation of what a president would go through on a daily life. This is not a drama because Frank has nothing to lose or fear in season 3. Might as well just watch CNN... Pretty damn boring and upsetting.

We all know that Underwood won't be happy unless he gets elected for a second term. That's something big to lose in my book.

That said, is anyone else getting annoyed by the blatant product placement in this season? Those Apple logos are in our faces a bit more than they should be to be believable.

2nd term?
thought Frank took over after Walker's 2nd yr as Pres?

so technically, Frank can run for 2 terms and be a 10yr Pres?

lol, I noticed the product placement too. Doug uses a windows phone, the white house has Samsung televisions, the FBI has dell monitors, and I saw someone using an Android device. I believe Claire uses an Apple phone.

Yes, you can make an argument that Frank can lose his run for the second term but does that really strike as something dramatic to you? It doesn't for me. The whole reason I liked season 1 and 2 is because it dealt with government corruption from a different view point, the corrupt. In season 3, Frank isn't doing anything corrupt and nor does he manipulate anyone. He's just working as a normal president with failed politics and getting pushed around. This is not a DRAMA! This is like watching CNN but with prettier videography.

Are you serious? This show is too unrealistic and over the top to be 'like watching CNN'.

But then again, CNN sucks.

* Unemployment declared as state of emergency by FEMA, lol.
* Imagine the media shit storm if First Lady told off Putin on their soil in public. This would be utterly destructive for the US president too.
* A congressman's murder and that prominent journalist's death in the subway absolutely go without further investigation- especially when there were trails of hint EVERYWHERE for her going after Underwood's corruption.

Does it seem like there will be more?

I already binged watched the entire thing. There will be a season 4. Season 3 ended more along the lines of a mid season finale, left with a bunch of unanswered questions.

Edit:
It's not really worth watching with the way it ended. It's also not worth watching with how boring the entire season was.

Binged the whole thing this weekend. My friends said it was a waste of a season and they were right. The ending was a mid season finale. They could have condensed this season into 5 episodes and taken it through the election.

Netflix is milking the show now. I expect this out of network drama but not Netflix.

I felt it was a mixed bag. Definitely too much Stamper.

But I did have a good laugh when he told Dunbar to go eff herself on the phone.
