House is great. I have to admit that the first couple times it was on, I didn't like it. Of course, I watch most of my TV as "background" so I really didn't give it a chance. Then my wife made me watch it and, as usual, I had to admit to her that I was wrong.
Dr. House is something. He's the only reason I watch the show and he fascinates me. The guy's a control freak, antisocial, and a drug addict all in one.
I caught a couple of episodes recently and I really liked it (The one with the baseball player, the one with the rabies, and the one with the traumetized woman who was hallucinating). Good stuff, and yeah, Dr. House is awesome. It would be so cool to be "THE MAN" in your subject matter or field like that.
Reminder: House is on tonight at 9PM.
This episode sounds like it should be pretty good, well, even better than the other episodes which were kickass in themselves. Therefore making this episode MORE GOOD!

she's definitely an asset on the show, visually... but it is the case where we always seek out the best looking one on a show and claim her as hot. In short, I've seen way better. They do need to have her "go out on the town" more. That pony tail and dr.'s coat isn't doing her any favors.
I don't know what it is about her, but I think she is so unbelievably attractive. I think it's the fact she's a doctor (well, in the show at least). Also, she seems so...sensitive!
God I sound so gay right now.

It's actually the ONLY show we tune in to every week. We'll get bored of it, as we do with all shows, but after three weeks we're still watching it. It's interesting, because people like to watch other smarty-pants people show off, and that's what house does. He's a dick, and nobody would want to be friends with him, but he's interesting to watch.
Nailed it so hard the hammer broke.

they make her a more sensitive character because they want her and House to get together. You can just see it coming... every time she defends his decisions. She's also vulnerable because of her past... so you have you have 2 doctors with emotional instability finding each other. Whatever gets her more camera time is fine with me.
It's an excellent show, but has anyone noticed similarity in every episode?
They get a patient and diagnose him with a condition. Soon it turns out that condition isn't right. They start guessing about other possibility, in which case House and one of the 3 residents get into an argument. They start trying different things and come up with a treatment that would only work if the specific condition is met, otherwise it's going to kill the patient. At the last moment House figures out what it was and orders correct treatment. His resident runs away with tail between his/her legs.

House and her will never get together
It would ruin the show IMO. The best thing about House is how much of an arrogant ass he is, it would be so awkward if they were going out.
I watched a few minutes, and while it may be a great show, I still prefer Scrubs by far. Scrubs shows everything in a humorous, yet profound way (well, most of it). The lively bunch of characters are also a great part of what makes it such a great show.
I wonder if real doctors watch this show and say "boy, that doesn't make any sense whatsoever, that could never happen in real life". Kind like us with 24...

The show... I have trouble believing a doctor with his personality and attitude working in a hospital with dying patients, but it makes for good drama.

I'd have to think they do pick it apart like us geeks do on a technical level with other shows. The difference is shows like 24 simply brush over the details without a 2nd thought while medical shows like this and Medical Investigation go on to explain symptoms and causes. They don't make anything up... it's just very unlikely to actually happen (and they admit it). The other thing is they may speed up the effects of an illness for the sake of time.
