House is still great - I think the show has a few years. Even though the tension has sort of been broken, which is usually a shark jumping moment for the show, the writers will figure something out here. It's one of the best written shows on TV, if not the best, for a reason.

I guess the real thing we wonder now is if House can or will be able to change... or what affect finally feeling like his life has meaning will have on him. I was curious if the show would end with him trying to commit suicide, which I could see with all the mental torture that he suffered throughout the episode. But they pulled that last season with Kal Penn's departure, so, it was probably not going to happen.

EDIT: This was the episode that was shot on those Canon hand-held cams, right?

I loved last night's episode up to the final two minutes. Part of the allure of House is his constant struggle with his feelings for Cuddy. Now that's been pretty much thrown out of the script. I was so hoping that when Cuddy asked if the pills were still in his hand, the camera would pan in and show them gone. But, hey, we'll see how the writers handle the new relationship in September.

I thought it was average, which in terms of House episodes means it was pretty good. I didn't think it was anything epic though.

I just watched it. The entire episode was very good but the ending seemed kind of anti-climatic. I know it was supposed to be a big deal but something just didn't seem right. Maybe they needed more dramatic music although I know that would be cliche. Excellent ep till the last few minutes though. One of the best.

I strongly disagree. They already used 'I hallucinated Cuddy' trick. It would've been mega lame to pull that again. Then what? House in rehab again and repeat season 6?

Cuddy and House has been beating around the bush for 6 freakin' seasons and now it finally happened. It's giving the show a progress which is the only thing that has me watching it aside from the terribly repetitive formulaic hospital episodes that makes Power Rangers blush.

I love House but they should end the show now (1-2 seasons max). I just hope they don't drag the show and lose all of its glory.

By the way, didn't you guys feel for House in this powerful episode? He willfully and openly resists developing relationships. He's done the same to the collapse victim, but they get attached anyway. And guess what happens? She dies. Man, that's enough to fuck up anyone let alone already-battered House.
