House explodes near by my house

Natural Gas 🙁

The worst part of the whole thing had to be how the daughter learned it was her mother 🙁 During the news conference they said the address and a girl just broke down crying as she realized that was her mothers address. You would think they would have made sure she knew beforehand.

Wow scary...

I've always wondered if natural gas is in fact safe. Often, it chains, they got lucky there it was just 1 house. Sadning about the death though.

unbelieveable! I live about 4 blocks from the explosion. I also throught that somebody crashed into my house. I ran outside and was confused to see that nothing had hit my home. A few minutes later I looked up into my neibourhood an saw the black billowing that was underlit red by the fire. It was a frightning experience. I can't imagin what the people felt that live on the same block as the explosion.

Here is a fly over of the after math. Clicky.

The single biggest reason I now live in an all electric place!!

When my house exploded from a natural gas leak, just under 2 years ago now, every person that responded (police, fire, gas company & news) was flabbergasted that I not only survived the explosion, but came out of the house without a scratch on me.

Granted, my house was completely destroyed, like this one was, but it did lift the roof off the house, the house off the foundation, and blew the back wall off the house in three pieces...... and every door & window was blown out. Yeah. Like I said, now I live in an all electric place!

More meth comes from iOwa than mexico...

That or southern MA.....

Considering MA requires CO2 detectors, I'm surprised people don't get the ones that can also detect gas.

Natural gas has a distinct odor. I don't quite understand how you can have enough of a gas build up to blow up the whole house and not notice it. Am I missing something?

And, many reviews say that the gas detector units are iffy at best. Too many false alarms.

I agree. The smell was noticed outside on the street an hour beforehand, I sure as fuck would not have stayed in that house if you can smell that.

If there had been that much gas inside the house wouldn't the lady have been dead long before the house actually exploded?
