A little thought is needed before opening up your yap.
Is the economy strong enough to absorb those troops being cut out?
What jobs will they be picking up?
Drop the Army and Air Force; what happens to all the internal programs that rely on government civilians and contractors?
You would have to cut out those also - nothing to support.
Watch 100s+ cities and towns turn into dust bowls. Every USAF facility (aircraft and R&D). Every town that supports an Army post.
We do not have the economy to pick up the slack like back in the 80s.
You can hand over facilities to local governments to handle/expand civilian infrastructure. There is no expansion going on at present! No demand. Property will sit useless for 5-20 years. Facilities on the property will degrade due to lack of maintenance.
Or are you going to cherry pick - anything different from the BRAC?
yup, nothing like adding half a million to a non existent job economy
