Politicizing the Justice Department effects all Americans and must be investigated and exposed. That's what your party of Nixon just doesn't get. Those who are in contempt of Congress must be held in contempt of Congress.
Funny you should bring up politicization of the Justice Department. Janet Reno, Clinton's Crook-In-Chief, ran one of the most political JD's in history. She was front and center in killing investigations in to various Clinton misdeeds. I don't recall you being too concerned about that...

I don't get how an executive privilege is necessary with a subpoena. If the WH says this is nothing but politics and won't uncover any wrongdoings, why not make the Dems look like fools by wasting taxpayer money when they end up finding nothing?
You don't understand executive privilege?
Or you just don't feel GWB should be entitled to it? Because he wouldn't be the first POTUS to invoke it. (Or attempt to.)
Well the expanded excecutive privilege that Bush has instated is something that i find kinda... wrong.
When the leaders cannot be held responsible for their own actions something HAS to be wrong.

Of course-yet again, It's All Bill's Fault (copyright, national GOP party).
The 1990's GOP controlled Congress was obsessed with a multitude of ridiculous and expensive (in diverted manpower and financially) "investigations" of any and everything the White House did. If we had an Attorney General one quarter as capable, or one-quarter as honest as Janet Reno in the past seven years our country would almost certainly be on a much better track. At a minimum, the Department of Justice would not be the political enforcement tool that Bush has turned it into.

I'd love to see it, but so far the Dems are suffering from BOBO (balls on back order).

Republicans are still obsessed with Clenis and Hillary, and are making no effort to remedy the reason the voters sent them packing in 2006, corruption in their own ranks and their power at all costs tactics.

Do you think the Dems will be any different if they get the White House? If I had a nickle for every time Dems will say "Well, look at the mess Bush left. We cant change it". Shit, thats the senate's excuse for doing NOTHING since elections.
And it's not about BLAME. It's about Dems bitching about Bush did this, Bush did that when in many instances Clinton and every president before him did dimilar or worse and no one complained. Thats how politics works in case you didnt know. The party not in power points at the party IN power but fails to say "But we know we're guilty too".
Take some political science courses you might learn a thing or two.

Then Lincoln found US Grant, not anywhere as good of a General, but instead of retiring for three months after being defeated, Grant picked himself up and kept chasing the confederate army. Which proved to be the winning strategy that won the war.
Now it looks like some house democrats are trying the same.

Doesn't get more political than having your Federal agents kill a bunch of dissidents (including women and children.)

Or sending back an otherwise legal political immigrant whose mother died to get him here (Elio Gonzales sp?). And to do so, used federal agents with machine guns to kidnapp him out of his family's house in Miami.
Talk about Brown shirt jack-booted thugs. Geez.
Edit: Why even bother to mention the WH staffer who illegally obtained FBI files on political opponents (talk about civil rights violations and corruption, Damn!). Shaeds of Nixon. And Reno did zip. 😀isgust;

Reno had been in charge of Justice for what, 8 days when that started? She had no knowledge of the operation at all at that point, it was a holdover operation from the previous administration's crew, who wanted to make a big splashy arrest. If this had been handled with any sense at all, at the beginning, they would have arrested the guy while he was out jogging.
