Do not, I repeat DO NOT cross Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ...

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...s-lash-out-at-moderates/ar-BBUdVVT?ocid=ientp

"House Democrats exploded in recriminations Thursday over moderates bucking the party, with liberal Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez threatening to put those voting with Republicans “on a list” for a primary challenge.

In a closed-door session, a frustrated Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) lashed out at about two dozen moderates and pressured them to get on board. “We are either a team or we’re not, and we have to make that decision,” Pelosi said, according to two people present but not authorized to discuss the remarks publicly.

But Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the unquestioned media superstar of the freshman class, upped the ante, admonishing the moderates and indicating she would help liberal activists unseat them in the 2020 election.
Corbin Trent, a spokesman for Ocasio-Cortez, said she told her colleagues that Democrats who side with Republicans “are putting themselves on a list.”
“She said that when activists ask her why she had to vote for a gun safety bill that also further empowers an agency that forcibly injects kids with psychotropic drugs, they’re going to want a list of names and she’s going to give it to them,” Trent said, referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Triggering the blowup was Wednesday’s votes on a bill to expand federal background checks for gun purchases. Twenty-six moderate Democrats joined Republicans in amending the legislation, adding a provision requiring that ICE be notified if an illegal immigrant seeks to purchase a gun.

That infuriated liberals who have railed against ICE’s role in conducting mass deportations and embarrassed Democratic leaders who couldn’t keep their members in line on a high-profile bill.
The Democratic infighting reflects a fractured caucus and diverse freshman class, with dozens of moderates elected in districts that President Trump won in 2016 at odds with hard-charging liberals. The split has exposed divisions among Pelosi and her top lieutenants, Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) and Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.), over the party strategy to keep its newfound majority."

There is zero reason why dems should vote with GOP who are basically servants of rich donors.

So I support AOC and want her to keep going to unify the democrats.

It's good to see Pelosi recognize the new generation is here and you will not win if you alienate them. Baby Boomers are dying. Millenials and Gen X'ers and their viewpoints are the future.

That’s sound advise to blindly follow politicans like a religious cult. I’ve never heard any bad history lessons come from that.

I like this idea. It sucks that some democrats are against it.

AOC isn't about herself, she's about:
- medicare for all
- a living minimum wage
- a guarantee of a job

That is easy to support.. healthy people who are working, and able to feed and house their family are happy people. Unlike the raging Trumpanzees.

And really do look at the flip side. The GOP are blindly following Trump like a religious cult.

Did you forget what happened in Florida?

Florida Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis, a Republican, is slow walking the implementation of a voter-approved initiative to restore the voting rights of the majority of the state's felons who have completed their sentences.

The initiative, Amendment 4, was approved by 65 percent of Floridians last month and would restore the voting rights of an 1.5 million Floridians.

I hope she can transform the current doing nothing actions on the environment with some of her ideas. About her not being selfish, you're putting a lot of faith into a newly minted politician. She may have that vaile, but let her get banged up a bit in the political machine that's been churning on it's own since We The People.

Those aren't my values, but how does she plan to attain them when she just chased away 2 parts of her plan in Amazon? They were going to provide needed jobs and they could have funded her drain the rich, feed the poor philosophy.

I'd support free health care.

I don't get though how you guys hate Trump because he's 'blindly' followed, but you love that Ocasio Cortez wants to be 'blindly' followed.

The moment AOC or any democrat becomes a Russian Agent or a servant to billionaire donors over the American former middle class (now working poor).. we're done with them.

Parties have factions. What else is new? Power only makes factional divides more noticeable.

Hahahahahaha. You do understand that the Dems overwhelmingly represent the richest congressional districts? So the rich people are giving money and support to the GOP but then vote Dem? The Dems are not the party of the middle class.

Sounds like she is going to have her political officers throw those dissent democrats into the gulags. I wonder if the next issue of the AOC comic books will have her rounding up those moderate dems and banishing them? Anybody still voting Dem at this point gets what's coming to you. Maybe AOC will force those moderates to wear identifying markings on their clothes?

So what are the mechanics of that, how does the fed gov guarantee a job?

Well we can easily increase the size of government jobs by increasing health care, infrastructure and omg.. IMMIGRATION JOBS. There's no reason for the immigration queue to be so fucking long.

My wife didn't get a green card for a year after we got married.. something every couple has to go through. The wait list for visas is ridiculously long too.. I know a legal immigrant who just wants his son to have a green card and he's been waiting 7 years in queue.

Things like this take super long because Trumpanzees want smaller dysfunctional government.

If we had bigger government maybe the fucking potholes around here would get fixed faster too.

The "Freshman Force" flies down and smashes the evil whitey business owner until he stops oppressing the poor and gives them the job that they earned.

That is a strange amendment to protest.

If the Dems do stupid shit like this about 10,000 more times, I might start considering voting for a GOP politician.

It's the GOP pandering to their base. dunno why Dems would help them do it. Illegals can't buy guns over the counter, anyway.

I get that, but on the surface at least the amendment won't cause any harm, would it? Why play into GOP hands like this? Now these Dems are "the people who don't care if illegals try to buy guns."

So ICE shouldn't be altered about an illegal alien applying to purchase a firearm?
